It was said on the day when US servicemen were waging a battle to defend Serb civilians from thousands of armed Kosovo Albanians

Statement is released TODAY.

On March 16 Ms. Stephens met with KLA terrorist chief Hashim Thaqi and praised his contribution to Kosovo peace efforts.

Is this statement a grave miscalculation or GREEN LIGHT FOR TERRORIST ATTACKS?

They really don't appear to be doing much battling. The ethnic cleansing and burning of homes and churches is being allowed to happen as some sort of final solution for the Serb problem. Evil always seems to win in the Balkans these days, doesn't it?

Don't trust anything coming out of the State Dept. Remember these are holdovers from the Clintoonian Administration that Colin Powell refused to clean house.

Political Status Cannot be Determined Through Violence, U.S. tells (Security) Council
The ambassador said Washington wanted him to conclude his remarks in the council "with an appeal to the leaders of Kosovo that they understand that the complete cessation of violence is the prerequisite for us to make decisions on Kosovo's future political status. This cannot be accomplished through violence."

"The Security Council reiterates the urgent need for the authorities in Kosovo to take effective steps to enforce the rule of law, ensure proper security for all ethnic communities, and bring to justice all the perpetrators of criminal acts," (we'll see)
