City council members in Port Orange, Florida passed a controversial law that bans outdoor smoking in front of children at public parks and recreation properties, according to Local 6 News.

Port Orange council members said the smoking ban is to protect kids from second-hand smoke and to prevent them from starting in the first place.

Good Grief!!! Where does it end?

Term limits (One 6 year term for president; one 5 year term for a congressman) would begin to move us back to where we once were.....

Add that all judges need reconfirmed every 5 years....

Smoking helps non-smokers live longer. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 30 people, over my lifetime, who I would have strangled had I not been able to take refuge in nicotine-induced meditation.

This is the madness of our age.

Under assault from a totalitarian genoicidal ideology masquerading as a religion, we focus on the utterly trivial, putting to lie our freedom of behavior and association, making the traditional liberties and freedoms of America a mere historical chimera, while we focus on hypochondrial, anal, ninnny nanny measure to create the American Utopia.

Welcome to NANNYSTAN. And the Taliban win another one.

Hail America. Where'd you go?

Repeat as necessary.

It's a race to see which side of the aisle can get us to Utopia.

I've got about 12 White Burley Tobbaco plants I grew from seed (these seeds are tiny!) in my greenhouse right now, and I'll be putting them out in the garden next week. Ask me how it went in September. Should be ready then.

While I don't believe in term limits (yet), I'm starting to lean towards elected judges with reconfirmation.

Back in the 80's and early 90's I had a group of very dear friends who were all homosexual. There were about a dozen men and one woman in this social circle and (although I am not gay) I loved them each very much.

All but two of them are dead. Dead of AIDS (the lady died of a heart attack). Only the two made it to 45. Many of them didn't even make it to 30. The two who survived were a rather conservative pair who believed in monogamy. The promiscuity that is woven into the homosexual lifestyle kills. That is a fact. You have obviously been spared the destructive effects of the homosexual lifestyle.

A know lots of smokers in their 50's and 60's. I only (now) know two gay men who made it into their 50's. After you've suffered the loss that I have, you will think long and hard before you flippantly spout off on the how homosexuality isn't so bad.

From the article:

Officials say they will politely ask smokers to put out their cigarettes up to three times -- then they'll call police.

Repeat violators could be arrested and spend up to 60 days in jail and face a $500 fine.

Yes, of course! Now the demonization circle is completed.

And the message to "the children":

1. Smokers are criminals, abuse at will.

2. Your body belongs to the state; take care of its property, or the same fate will befall you.

A couple of more generations, more or less, and the majority population in the country will be narcissistic hypochondriacal, forelock-tugging, kneepad-wearing a$$holes.

I hope you're not right about it ending in violence, but I think you are.

We can talk about not voting for facists and leftists and people who want to strip us of our freedoms and manage our lives, but still these people get elected. Hell, I know a city councilman - a good guy - who every few months gets an idea about some new anti-smoking, anti-drinking, anti-something law he's going to pass.

One day, I fear, we'll look around and realize we're no better off than the subjects under Stalin and we'll have to start shooting.
