NRA's Wayne LaPierre Speaks to the Commonwealth Club 03-11-04 [Must hear!]

"Audemus jura nostra defendere" has been translated as: "We Dare Maintain Our Rights" or "We Dare Defend Our Rights." This Latin phrase is on the state coat of arms completed in 1923.

KEYWORDS: 2ndamendment; audemusjuradefendere; bang; banglist; cfr; commonwealthclub; defend; freedom; lapierre; nra; rights; wellstone
Wayne LaPierre really did a great job. He cites a Zogby poll (I think this is the one) which is amazing.

Our freedoms are well-supported by Americans!

He goes after the Wellstone amendment, the failure to protect our firearms industry, which he correctly characterizes as an essential component of our national defense.

Give a listen and pass it on.

I learned the Alabama state motto from you. Here it is again: "Audemus jura nostra defendere." How is it pronounced?

I've always liked, "Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain." Its on the Iowa state flag.

But who really knows? When was the last time anyone spoke to a citizen of ancient Rome?
