The first thing that struck me was the unkempt, burnt-out, glassy-eyed look of those two dozy berks with the sign.

The next thing was the wording of the sign. All US troops were actually withdrawn from Viatnam by 1973. The last large combat unit (101st Airborne) left in 1971. There were no mass shootings. There were a number of individual fraggings, mostly in support units. As far as "troops refusing to get on troopships," troopships went out in the 1960s and troops came and went on airplanes.

These guys hit the weed (or judging from their apparently deficient dentition, the meth) too hard.

Oh, yeah.. of those 2 million Vietnamese? About 1 million were armed enemy combatants. About half a million were armed ARVN combatants. About 20,000 were civilians killed, almost always by accident, by US or ARVN forces. The remainder were civilians killed by Communist forces.

Not sure I could stand by and let that sign go by, before I took it from those two Commies. IMHO, when they call for the assassination of our military leaders, they've crossed the line in my book, and it's one thing to exercise freedom of speech, it's another to call for shooting Military officers. The 1st Amendment guarantee's all of us freedom of speech under the law, but it doesn't give us the right to scream "Fire" in a crowded theater.

They're trying desperately to recapture the feeling of what many thought to be the best times of their lives (in the late 60's), but just can't seem to come to grips with the fact that their youth is long gone and Woodstock is over.

Btw, if a Rat Prez were currently in power and had conducted the war in Iraq exactly as Bush has done (a big if, I'm well aware), these protests wouldn't be happening, and the leftists would be praising Iraq's liberation like there's no tomorrow. Funny, I spent the ENTIRE DECADE of the 70s in the Navy, made 3 combat cruises to 'nam, was on the staff of a couple of Admirals, had a TOP SECRET clearance, in fact I had clearances so high that the mere fact I held them was CLASSIFIED CONFIDENTIAL, and I don't recall anything like this in ANY of the intel reports I read.

Did anyone else hear of ANYTHING like this????
