efending Sen. John Kerry against charges he fabricated claims of meetings with foreign leaders who offered their political support, Sen. Ted Kennedy said Sunday that the Central Intelligence Agency will verify Kerry's account.
Asked to identify the leaders Kerry met with, Kennedy told NBC's "Meet the Press": "The CIA knows it. They work for the president. They can give him the names of all of those countries."
Kennedy complained that the White House still hasn't identified the members of Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force or the White House official who leaked the name of CIA employee Valerie Plame.
But when pressed on Kerry's alleged meetings with foreign leaders, Kennedy reiterated the claim that the CIA will back his account up.
"He's obviously - he's met leaders over a period of time," he told "Meet the Press." "And anyone - the CIA knows who they - if the White House is really interested in those leaders, they control the CIA, the CIA gives them those lists."

Either way, it's a lose-lose for Kerry.
Better for him to keep his trap shut and move on.
Kennedy is an irrational, juvenile, murdering jerk!

Kennedy complained that the White House still hasn't identified the members of Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force or the White House official who leaked the name of CIA employee Valerie Plame. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't those names released at the time they were appointed?
In any case, J. F'ing Kerry will complain that whoever they are, they will be Bush/Cheney cronies in the oil business..
Well, who better to head the Enegery Task Force, lawyers, or someone who doesn't understand anything about the oil business?

Kennedy is such an ass. Even if the CIA were to brief Bush, it doesn't clear up which foreign leaders made the comments.

Why isn't Kerry willing to tell the American people, who these foreign leaders are?
Doesn't he think we have the right to know?
Note, that he was the one who brought up the subject in the first place.

K's travel records have already been outed by the press - they can't find anything. And, don't you know, the libs in the media would have wanted to.....but there's no there there. Kerry was talking about his cousin, a foreign leader as mayor of a dinky town in France!

Kennedy: CIA Will Confirm That Kerry Met With Foreign Leaders This is a bad headline -- it sounds as if the CIA is planning to say this, which is not what Kennedy said. The headline should be "Could Confirm," not "Will Confirm."

Take note of Sen. Harkin (D) in that photo as well...

I can just see Kerry cringing on the slopes when he hears that now he is going to have the CIA on his back because of Kennedy's big mouth.

When the hero of Chappaquiddick talks we should all listen.

Because kerry knows this could be a campaign buster. The fact he was meeting in secret, with foreign leaders, discussing how to beat Bush in a time of war...won't go over verywell with the electorate.

Kennedy clearly has no reservations about using the CIA for purely political purposes.
This is an interesting insight into the the thinking of the far left.

if the White House is really interested in those leaders, they control the CIA, the CIA gives them those lists." Sure Ted, and the outdry from the RATs would be about inappropriately using the CIA for the Bush campaign.

> Kennedy just made matters worse.
The question is: was it deliberate, or did Teddy down one
too many Irish coffees before the show? Teddy may be as
dumb as a post about most things, but politics isn't one
of them.
If deliberate, it would signal a Clinton/DNC move to have
Senator Kerry join Senator Eagleton in the Almost Hall
of Fame.
To: areafiftyone
Wow! I can't believe the left really wants to run with this. Kerry is favored over Bush by the enemies of America! Three out of five of the world's deadliest Marxist/Islamist/terrorist leaders secretly endorse John Kerry!! The rest come right out and openly $upport and campaign for him. What a great campaign slogan for the traitorous Democrats.

Even if we had a list of foreign leaders that Kerry met with, that doesn't mean that they all want him to be President.
Hey, Teddy: Why should we have to ask the CIA? Doesn't Kerry remember who they were?

Gee, I didn't know that Kerry had travelled to North Korea, Cuba, Israel or even France in the last year.
