Then the face of the sign would be in shadow, not direct sun. It is in shadow in the walking photo; that's the one I was referring to, and I presumed PF was as well.

The face of the sign in the second photo is not in direct sun. If it was, it would be blindingly white, obscuring the text like the other sign in the background.
