When I deployed last year, I explained to my six year old son that I was going to fight the bad guys, and we'd talked about it before. He loves to be on base and watch all the guys doing their "stuff".
He looked up at me and said "daddy?"
I said "what is it, big guy?"
He answered, and I quote "Are you sure you're going to be okay there without me to watch your back?" (he's heard me say over and over I've got your back.)
So, this is the answer to how to make a Ranger cry, and also reaffirms why I do what I do.
Thanks for everybody that showed up, it was a great time.
