Oh, I beg to differ with you. The Irish have shown sympathy for the starving in Africa. The world has grown fatigued by it, but it was an Irish pop star who organized the "We are the World" effort to help with starving in Africa some twenty years ago. I don't think if you visited Ireland you'd find them indifferent to starvation any more than you'd find most Jews indifferent to genocide.

She's right, and today in Africa Christians are still being exposed to horrors we can only imagine. Whether we like to admit it or not, blacks DID suffer the whip so I can understand their reaction to this movie.
This woman is not race baiting, she's telling it like it was.

The best review of Gibson's film was written by an African-American - Colby King in the Washington Post.

I think it's an important thing to remind the West that a life of suffering is still a life and is loved by God because it is from God and was made sensible through Christ. I think Gibson's film does this. Jesus never said, "Blessed is the society that has no sufering." That was the mantra of the grotesque inverted logic of Bergen-Belsen and is the mantra of our modern world view of perfect people and "life with dignity."
