This is actually why I think so many wealthy people embrace Marxist ideals. Unlike their claims of compassion for wealth redistribution (taxes), a higher tax rate only allows the haves to have more. It is their objection to competition...and thus their fear of sharing wealth and power with others. A higher tax rate stifles competition, as social mobility is hampered, guaranteeing them a spot at the top, without challenge...whether in business or politics. The tax-code, as with everything liberal, is all about power and control...and higher tax rates guarantee them all of the above.
