I take it that Clarke felt his job was more important to national security and that like in government he should not have been demoted.

Maybe he didn't like taking orders from a black woman who was a lot smarter than him.

Retired General Wayne Downing said on MSNBC tonight to Keith Olberman that Clarke hired him, brought him into the government.

And he said that Clarke was probably upset because he didn't have the access in this White House that he had in the Clinton White House.

He also said EGO was involved.

Once again, most of the Clinton administrations anti terror effort was to go after the "angry white guy", and they didn't even stop him.

Did anybody see Mansoor Ijaz (SP) this morning around 7:30 EST, on FOX, he was hot, he issued a challenge to this Dick Clark saying he would go toe to toe with him on any TV show refuting all of his claims and remarks. He also said that when he (Mansoor) had helped with the deals in the Sudan to hand over Bin Laden that Clark was one of the ones that nixed the deal. I want to see that one.

The good thing about this is that it puts security at the top of the issues list. I don't have any doubt Bush will have an edge there. It's what the debates should be about, about who can we trust more.

The democrats always think we should spend more to defend ourselves against terrorism. Money spent going after terrorists is 10:1 better spent than trying to defend ourselves, which we can never do effectively (but would create a lot of low level jobs for their constituents).

. . . and as far as Kerry goes, he thinks jobs lost overseas will have a bigger impact on the economy than another 9-11 would.

I think that it was a huge mistake for the democrats to try to discredit GW Bush and his handling of terrorism. Now, all of the questions that have been in everyone's mind for the last decade can be asked about how we got to where we are here in 2004 where third-world cavemen are running the world. Where radicals are putting fear in the hearts of every man, woman, and child in civilized societies. Where men who order suicide bombings are called spiritual leaders.

Now the entire list of terrorist attacks against the United States can be called into question and each leader who was in charge at the time can be asked what he did about that attack. Mr Clinton has one hell of a lot of explaining to do.........

Unfortunately, too many people believed every word that Clarke said. My coworker and I were close to blows today over this. I had to walk outside to keep from exploding listening to things like, " Clinton did everything he could to stop the terrorists" and " Bush and his advisor's have no idea what they are doing, and the entire world is turning against us." The very worse thing he said was" We are losing the war on terror. We are going backwards!"

The RATS are deeply saddned that 9/11 didn't happen in 2000. They were playing it that way, just hopeing. It likely would have put algorejr in.
