Sush a clear eyed and unbiased report/sarcasm.

I'm angry because I was looking forward to their having a high value target in their sights but wary of these "truces" that end up in escape.

These tribes are a danger to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Pakistani army used 15 Cobra helicopters, two F-17 fighters and dozens of artillery batteries.

Wait a minute here...F-17 fighters? As far as I am aware the US, or anyone else, does not make an aircraft by that designation. A little net searching says that two protoypes were built as YF-17, but that the actual production verion of these prototypes is the familiar F-18.

Further, various Pakistani OOB's I can find don't list them as having a F-17 model;

This may be a small detail, but I smell a rat here...

What was supposed to be smashed in between was "high-value target" Ayman al-Zawahiri, as Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf enthusiastically bragged - with no hard evidence - to an eager CNN last Thursday

I never saw anywhere that Musharraf mentioned al-Z as the high-value target.

Not that truth should ever stand in the way of the media.
