CLARKE: There was never a plan, Andrea.

Andrea Mithcell. I wonder if she has mentioned this on any of her various TV appearances!

In one fell swoop, Clarke has made an ass of himself, CBS, 60 minutes, Lesley Stahl, Viacom, Simon and Shuster, Larry King, and possibly the 911 commission. Have I missed anyone?

Madeline Not-so-bright and the rest of the Toon administration, CNN, ABC, NBC for a start.

"CLARKE: There was never a plan, Andrea. What there was was these two things: One, a description of the existing strategy, which included a description of the threat. And two, those things which had been looked at over the course of two years, and which were still on the table."

Andrea... Andrea Mitchell of NBC, perhaps?

More than likely, it might be some assistant at Fox - or perhaps Jim Angle himself remembered it. Someone's gonna get a nice bonus for this.

You raise a good point -- where are the other reporters who were at the briefing with Angle?

Truth be told, Clinton never had a plan or policy for anything. Everything had to be twisted out of him, only after he'd obfuscate and procrastinate something to the point of "management by indecision". The underlings eventually sort it out and dilute all measures by dividing them equally among all parties interested, even including your enemies. Proof of this is evident in Clinton style North Korea policy, Balkan policy, Middle East initiatives, welfare reform, and an endless string of typical indecision decisions. The outrage is that he and his family had to still get their management fees though.

>>He's in a pickle, as he either has to say that the Clinton policy was not as he described in the backgrounder, or he needs to say that GW et al did not "vigorously pursue" the existing policy, which then argues against what he himself and others have stated in the past.

>"He'll probably claim that he was forced to lie in this press conference."

Every lies about sex, er, when promoting their book.

Somehow, I have this feeling that the only place we'll see this is on FreeRepublic, FoxNews, Newsmax, and Talk Radio.

It won't see the light of day on ABCCBSNBC, NYT, WP, CNN, etc...

Did you hear Bob Kerrey this morning at the 9-11 hearings?

I did.

He said that he reviewed the "plans" the Clinton Administration Team handed over to the Bush Team last night. He said they were nothing more than a few "points" such as "more diplomacy" and "increased pressure"...

One of us mis-heard. I think he was actually slamming the Bush administration in general, and Condi Rice in particular, for saying that they had changed the approach to Al-quaeda, and developed a plan for dealing with it. He absolutely has savaged the Clinton administration, but I think his comments this morning were aimed at the Bush administration plan.

Fox is ripping Clarke to shreds right now.

Angle is saying that Clarke DESTROYED the Clinton Admin's record saying it all had to be FIXED! And that Pres. Bush DID DO IT AND TAKE IT ON!

AMAZING!!!
