So just because he says it's not amnesty you believe him and don't think for yourself? Well that's a good little foot soldier.

It's you who does not understand Dane. My political animus is towards Bush's policies not the man himself. As I have said many times, he's done some things right and some things wrong. I don't see it as all that wrong to point out the wrong. True leaders welcome legitimate criticism, dictators do not.

My disdain for Kerry and all things Democrat is well documented Dane, I don't feel the need to rehash it time and time again just for your benefit.

And just what is it that you think is my ruse Dane? Not marching lockstep and being willing to say so?

You'd be wise to read up and learn some things yourself, you're not as bright and insightful as you think you are.

Just the opposite, you're a stooge.

Jim, is this a Conservative forum or a GOP forum?

I can't speak for Jim, but how about you adding the possibilty of a common sense forum.

I already know that might be hard for you to comprehend.

Freepmail me and I will give you the web address where you may feel at "home"

Of course that place is covered with rubber mats so that the perpetually malcontnet can bang their heads aginst the walls so that they can wail against how cruel the world is to them.

JMO, I think you would fit in fine there.

"what good is your "principle" while your non-action in the political arena"

Non-action?!!

I'm guessing your some snot-nosed kid, that just got to vote in his first Presidential election. Now, you're going to hip me to the real Republican party.

I have supported the party with my passion, and money since the late '60's. I've campaigned for Nixon thru Reagan.

Get a haircut, and a real job. Don't interrupt the grown-ups when we are talking.

Non-action?!! What an arrogant little runt.

am·nes·ty
(click to hear the word) (mn-st)
n. pl. am·nes·ties
A general pardon granted by a government, especially for political offenses.

par·don
(click to hear the word) (pärdn)
tr.v. par·doned, par·don·ing, par·dons

  1. To release (a person) from punishment; exempt from penalty: a convicted criminal who was pardoned by the governor.
  2. To let (an offense) pass without punishment.

Words have meaning, which is why you consider it so important to distort the Bush plan.

There is no amnesty, because there is no pardon.

There is however, a change in the penalty attached with being in the country illegally.

A change, not an amnesty, because for it to be an amnesty, there would have to be no fines imposed.

Bush proposes a fine for the act of being in the country illegally, and further, a change in the mechanics used to obtain legal status after the fact while remaining in the country. The old way was to leave the US, and apply from your country of origin, the proposed change would eliminate the need to return home to petition for legal status.

If the law is changed in regards to murder, capital punishment outlawed and replaced with life in prison, that would never be considered an amnesty.

Keep spinning, maybe Kerry will address the issue more to your satisfaction.

My goal is not to create discord. My goal is to get us all to wake up to the fact that a certain percentage of folks, who, decades ago, would have been solidly part of the GOP, have left our ranks. It is easy (as many here do) to say "good riddance." But face the facts. The GOP is in no position to foment a Bush landslide. The result will be close. Why is that?

Dane, Dane, Dane, Dane, you seem to be wearing your blinders. You fail to acknowledge the liberal things Bush has done, Drug plan; education bill; etc. Time to take them off and see all the things going on.

Do you know where I could get some concise information about FTAA?

Thanks for posting this encouraging letter from a fellow citizen who is going to apply constitutional integrity in his practice of politics.

"I can't speak for Jim,"

So why are you? I know it is hard for you to comprehend but just because someone speaks out against the GOP and Bush does not necessarily mean that they are not conservatives.

By the way, seems you know the other site all to well. Why is that Dane? A regular there, hmmmm?

"Bush proposes a fine for the act of being in the country illegally, and further, a change in the mechanics used to obtain legal status after the fact while remaining in the country."

So let me get this straight. We're going to fine those already here as opposed to deporting them but then we're going to go back to a more aggressive stance of keeping illegals out and deporting those we find after that?

And what is that called?

And since we're on the subject of law doesn't the punishment at the time of the crime apply or are we just washing all that down the drain as well? Because when they came in the punishment was deportation so the punishment that should be applied would be the same.

Unless you're going to pardon them for that crime but then charge them under the new crime.

Blah, blah, blah, loosy.

Look if you can't see the real world political differences between Bush and Kerry, nothing will convince you.

You can lull yourself into thinking you are some king of a some cyber world while ignoring reality.

I on the other hand will deal with reality.

Great job, takes a lot of intelligence to spout stereotype BS about people from the south. Get a life. Ever here of freedom? He has the freedom to change parties if he wishes, that is his choice. By the way what stereotyping BS do you have about Hispanics? Blacks? Jews? Women? Handicapped people?

WHAT IN THE HECK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??????????????
