Kerry says people are born gay
By DOUGLASS K. DANIEL

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry says he believes people are born gay but are not guaranteed the right to marry within their own gender.
"I think it's entirely who you are from birth, personally," Kerry said in an interview to be broadcast on MTV. "Some people might choose, but I think that it's, it's who you are. I think you have ... people need to be able to be who they are."
Asked why he favors civil unions instead of marriage if people are born gay, Kerry replied: "What is distinct is the institutional name or whatever people look at as the sacrament within a church, or within a synagogue or within a mosque as a religious institution. There is a distinction. And the civil state really just adopted that, and it's the rights that are important, not the sort of ... the name of the institution."
In a transcript released Friday by MTV for its Tuesday special "Choose or Lose: 20 Million Questions for John Kerry," the presumptive Democratic nominee said he favors civil unions to give people partnership, inheritance and other rights.
"I think that people have a right in America to be who they are," Kerry said. "I believe very strongly that we can advance the cause of equality by moving toward civil union."

And the Left says the Right is anti-science... No kidding! That notion was all based upon a single study that has since been discredited...of course truth is not really required if you're on the left. Or rather, since truth is subjective, if one repeats a lie often enough it becomes truth to the left.

Of course, Kerry voted against the Defense of Marriage Act.
And he does not support a constitution amendment banning gay marraige.
Al Franken wrote "Lies and the lying liars who tell them". I think Kerry should be the first whole chapter, but of course Franken is perfectly comfortable with lies as long as they are liberal lies, and only have to do with sex.
To: Guillermo
Has Kerry flip flop on gay marriage?
I suspect he has changed his mind about gay marriage and civil unions.

WHICH IS IT FLIP/FLOP KERRY?????????????
If you CHOOSE it, it should get the same weight as those born that way? Can you CHOOSE to be Black? Can you CHOOSE to be physically handicapped (fat people not included)? Can you CHOOSE to be Native? No. Equal rights are for people who CAN'T choose their lot in life. SEXUAL PREFERENCE IS A CHOICE!

And, since John Wayne Gacy got his rocks off by murdering young boys, that was genetic as well...
And the guy who cheats on his wife (with prostitutes, or whoever)...that isn't a choice either.
If it feels good to you, then it must be genetic.

Kerry got the idea after attending a banquet with Wesley Clark:
To: babygene
"President Bush supports a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, a measure Kerry opposes on the grounds that marriage is a state issue"
Making a note that Kerry supports state's rights over federalism.
I bet that'll last.
Geez, why can't the man just say what he believes? Say he's against the ammendment because he's for gay rights. Why so cowardly? This is a leader?
To: BobS
Holy crap, that pic is hilarious.
To: Guillermo
And gay men's mothers are almost always born dominators who are very close to their sons and gay men's fathers are almost always born emotionally distant to the point that their sons can't bond with the male role model they should bond with.
Besides, doesn't it take a village to raise a gay child?
To: Guillermo
Listen, I've seen a lot of births on TV, and one in person. There ain't nuttin' gay about that screaming little person until the first feeding. Or the first nap.
I mean just look at that scrunched-up face, all red and angry. That's anything but gay.

If the urge to shun women and prefer another mans anus was genetic, wouldn't evolution had of eliminated that gene???
Left wingers never let science get in the way of ideology (homosexuality is genetic, humans are causing global warming, acid rain, ad nauseum).

I remember a medical article about a guy who had a reaction to some hormone medication. Where it gave him sexual urges that were different than how he usually was (I don't remember if he wa straight or homosexual). I wondered if it is something that supposedly happens at birth and has to do with hormone imbalance, why are so many opposed to having some way to balance those hormones?

Kerry can't even keep his lies about gays straight. Here's what he said just a few weeks ago:
He continued: "The only point I want to make to you is, I've talked to enough people some of whom fought for their country in war and I've talked to many of them who didn't discover their own sexuality until they were 35, 40 years old, and it wasn't because they made a choice, it was because they found out who they were."

If you're born gay, as he claims in the above article, would it really take you 20-25 years past the age of puberty to figure it out?
To: Guillermo
Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry says he believes people are born gay but are not guaranteed the right to marry within their own gender. Believe it or not, that is probably the only truthful statement Kerry has made in the entire campaign.
Ask any heterosexual if he was born that way. The answer will be, "Yes! I love having sex with women."
Ask any homosexual if he was born that way. The answer will be, "Yes! I love having sex with men."
End of arguement.
To: Guillermo
Let's suppose that people are born gay.
I was born with a tendency to strangle anyone who displeased me.
Did that make it right?
Fortunately I had parents who raised me right. I have never strangled anyone who displeased me.

Wait for it.

Let's be honest. Some people are born gay, others are on the fence and could happily be straight. Others choose to be gay for reasons of their own, including political, or the effects of abuse, untreated by proper counseling. More lesbians tend to fall into the latter category, while most gay men I have known seem to be irrevocably and unintentionally gay.
