Thanks for the update. The article on Yahoo said that the truck hit a concrete barrier as a result of the actions of a car...the way it was worded was peculiar...and I thought it odd that an oil tanker would explode as a result of impact...I would have thought that accidents were taken into consideration in the construction of safety measures to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
Peculiar. Especially in light of the upgraded security measures now.

Some friends I work with told me that there was a heating oil truck that crashed in New Paltz or somewhere on the Taconic a few years ago, hit the barrier on the right, and the oil all flowed up and forward, then ignited, created a huge oval flame and left the abuttment and bridge it hit all scorched for a few years.
