Oh of course! The current Administration must take the blame for an 8 month "lack of vision" but not a word about 8 years of bluster and inaction from the Clinton Administration. Again, SO WHAT? Compare the POST 9-11 actions of the Bush Administration with the 8 years of bluster and inaction by the Clintonites. The same Clinton Administration that John Kerry is currently praising as the model HE would use for a War on Terror. Endless meetings and tough talk but NO actions is the Kerry plan for fighting Terorrism. All the rest of this 9-11 Comission blather is just the usual Democratic Establishment smokescreen to hide the fact that their canidate is completely unfit for the job of President.

Good post. Something else the media never mentions is this -- throughout Clinton's term, particularly during impeachment, we heard about his great job approval numbers. Bush, on the other hand, became president after the most divisive campaign in modern history, with millions of Democrats claiming he was selected, not elected. Anyhow, my point is that Clinton could have used his popularity to do strong things, like really fight a war on terror. Instead, he talked about school uniforms and such. On the other hand, there is no way Bush would have been able to get approval from the public, or from Congress, to have preemptively struck at Al-Qaeda before 9/11, given the 2000 election. Heck, look at the way the libs screech about Iraq -- can you imagine what their reaction would have been if Bush had declared war on Al-Qaeda in the first few months of his term?

Clipped this from the a report on the latest Newsweek poll taken AFTER Clarke's testimony. This should make people feel better. We can win this. We just have to fight like heck. It will not be won by news reports or campaign speeches, it will be won by us here talking to neighbors, freinds and co-workers. Even if you just get them signed up as Bush volunteers to get the Bush Talking Points Emails to help spread the truth, we take another step towards victory.

A strong majority (65%) of Americans say former President Bill Clinton and his administration did not take the threat of global terrorism seriously enough (26% disagree), while a majority (61%) of Americans say President George W. Bush and his administration have taken the threat as seriously as they should have (34% disagree). Forty-three percent say both administrations are equally to blame for not preventing the September 11 attacks (24% say the Clinton administration is more to blame, 17% say the Bush administration).
