A much-appreciated effort from the families, and a welcome relief from the professional victim group.

Excellent--I was hoping some of the families would speak out like this. I am sure the media will want to bring this viewpoint into their discussions since they have been very interested in the anti-Bush families...ok, I won't hold my breath.

I heard a major reporter on MSNBC last week say that most 9/11 families were unhappy with Bush and that they would play a major role in the upcoming election. Ugh! And Chris Matthews had a 9/11 anti Bush widow on and after she was off he kept saying she was great because she looked good, was enjoyable to look at etc...it was wierd. I told my husband it is so unusual to find a democratic woman that's attractive that they get tongue tied when it happens. Yes, I was being petty but it is sorta true. :)

It is inexcusable that the democrats are using the victims, survivors and their families for political shenanigans. Haven't they already been through enough.. It's all the more appalling given the 8 years of dem. complicity with terrorists through which we all suffered.

I hope that somehow, someway these families and friends know that there are a whole lot of us out here who will never forget.

Funny. Didn't the Democrats discount Paula Jones because she MIGHT get a book deal?

Didn't they discount Linda Tripp's whistle blowing because she MIGHT get a book deal and, horror, kept tapes of her calls with Monica (most of those were just Monica yapping on her answering machine)?

Oh wait...Democrats are worthless, hypocrtical human scum. I forgot.

Even more disturbing for me was that apparently this Commission was aware of this "book" because of their request for a 90 day extension.

The Commission was given a 60 day extension, and the publishers of this book publish this "book" a month early.

This Commission, must not have liked what they were hearing and finding, thus Mr. Clarke changes the whole picture around with a book, via "public hearings".

This book is about more than "profiteering". Yes, Clarke will profit, however, the Commission using his book upon a world stage, is what gives the appearance of credibility.

This Commission is about rewriting the Clinton legacy and to affect this upcoming election. Clarke and his book are the tools.

Mr. Clarke did more than "risk the actual and preceived impartiality of this important process", he sent out an invitation to the "terrorists" of the world, President Bush was too obsessed with Iraq to protect this nation against terrorists.

I don't see any of the people that whined to Katie Couric about using 9/11 for political purposes on this list.

Just my paranoid opinion: I don’t think Clark wrote “his” book. I don’t think he even “proof read” it. There are too many contradicting points and there are errors even in the chronology of events. The Democrats “MO” are all over this.

They made a big deal about "the three women" financed by Mrs Kerry, making complaiints. Will the press make a fuss about these folk? No. They aren't in the democrats pay, therefore, to the press corps, they are morons.

Let's pray that Fisk releases Clarke's 2002 'testimony', compares it with his perjury before the current commission, has justice bring charges of criminal libel and get convictions and the finding that his 'book' profits from his criminal activities and that all earnings therefrom are therefore forfeit to the United States.

A meaningful review as to what happened on 9/11 and the aftermath can only happen if it is truly nonpartisan. Unfortunately, this week much of the non-partisanship was taken from us when Richard Clarke, the former White House counterterrorism advisor, decided to use his testimony before the 9/11 Commission to showcase the release of his tell-all book.

BUMP
