The first full-power rifle I ever fired was my dad's Remington model 760 pump in .30-06. It was a fine firearm.
Funny, it had no bayonet lug, pistol grip, folding stock, flash supressor, threaded barrel, plastic parts, and the mag only held five rounds.
I had no idea it was an "assault weapon".

Yeah. All of the world's armies immediately converted to the Remington 870 pump as soon as it came out.

I had no idea it was an "assault weapon".The term 'assault weapon' is redundant. All weapons have one purpose: to assault someone. My fists are assault weapons.
If you break into my home you will find that my granpa's 'Sweet 16' skeet gun doubles quite nicely as an 'assault weapon.'
