[history]
March 29, 2004 -- WATCH out, John Edwards. Be careful, Dick Gephardt. And be wary, Bob Graham. Your hopes of becoming John Kerry's running mate may soon be challenged by a new entry.
Former Gov. Mario Cuomo, who almost ran for president in 1992, could emerge as yet another candidate for vice president, The Post has learned.

I hope they do choose Cuomo, but I don't think they are that dumb.

Oh, this is a GREAT idea!
Maybe we could hear the Clinton tapes again where he calls him a mobster!

"A lot of us believe that Mario Cuomo is just what John Kerry needs as a counterpoint to [Vice President] Dick Cheney," said O'Shaughnessy, who once headed "Republicans for Cuomo."
Just wave bye-bye to the the entire south east and most of the midwest, dudes. The north east liberal establishment classes will applaud you as vigorously as their flabby limbs and wasted lives will allow, but not so vigorously that you fail to hear the rest of the country stampeding away from you.

Kerry-Cuomo? No, that's a non-starter.
Let's try Kerry-Kennedy or Kerry-Streisand. What about Kerry-McGovern? He's still around. That's the way to go.
NO! I've got it.
Kerry-Carter. He's tanned, rested, and ready. And he can pull the Southern vote.
To: kattracks
Mario couldn't even pull the trigger on a presidential run. I think his friends need to stop smoking angel dust.

Ah, how I remember Cuomo back in the '90s. That poor chump practically conducted his business with the slogan: "Now is the time for firm decision-making! ...or is it?"

To be realistic, no chance. Mario is even left of Kerry and they would never try to run with two northeastern candidates. It would be a quick kill for us.

It will never happen. Kerry is so liberal he needs someone he can claim is a moderate. But it would be funny to watch the liberal media portray Cuomo as a moderate like they are doing for Kerry, the most liberal senator in the senate, and Hillary.
