This is an interesting bit of information, especially since he is refuting Clarke's testimony.

Yep, he's a Senator from South Dakota, Daschle of course being the other one. LOL, we have borders, but I happen to keep up with the other Senators as well as the ones from Montana, as North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho all kind of have the same industries (farming/ranching), so what a Congressman from North or South Dakota for example, propose legislatively, can usually affect what happens in Montana.

He was a businessman donating to the party in power at the time. Nothing particularly interesting about that.
Though... it is interesting that there aren't any donations appearing for anyone (dems or otherwise) since 2000.

Don't recall his name, but he's serving time in jail for manslaughter. Hence the reason for the special runoff election. His seat was vacated because of that trial and conviction earlier this year.

but what's the point of this thread .. Monsoor is already on record that he has in the past supported the demsyeah, but this is beyond just making a token donation to the party in power, which I could understand for a businessman in his position.
This is REALLY REALLY supporting the Dems to the tune of almost $80,000, which for me is around two years salary.
I never really did trust him. When I would see him interviewed on Fox News, most of the time he just uttered cliche's from the previous day's news without any real insight. And sometimes he was really off the wall on his blame in various matters international.
Couldn't always put my finger on why I didn't trust him, but it was just a feeling I always had about him.
This news doesn't make me feel any better about him. His rift with Clarke the Dick is probably just ego driven, and we should watch out to give him too much credibility, especially in his claims that he "negotiated" the capture of Osama bin Ladin (three times, he said) for the Clinton administration.

But I do understand your point about watching and keep an eye on him
Monsoor kind of reminds me of Geraldo .. they are both Dem supportors .. but when it comes to 9/11 and the terrorists ... they put their party aside and want to get the truth and get the bad guys

Given the Clinton administrations track record on terrorism, against Ijaz's knowledge of the region, along with his support of the Bush administration's policies on terrorism, I'd lend credibility toward Ijaz.

The special election is to decide who will face off for the vacated seat in the House, once held by Janklow, who's serving time for vehicular manslaughter, in the General Election (November). How many times do I have to repeat that?

I think that you should put the sauce away. The guy serving time is Jankelow - a member of the House of Representatives. Daschle is a Senator and Thune is running against him in November. They have nothing to do with any special election to select a successor to Jankelow.

Nothing new, Ijaz got his start in politics as a Dem. fundraiser. That is how he had access to the Clinton White house to offer Bin Laden. I did notice that he has not contributed since 2000. 9/11 meant a change for a lot of people, I suspect he is one of them. Also don't forget that Laurie Mynrolie (sp?) and Jim Woosle were appointed by Clinton but certainly have found differences with him in regards to terrorism. Funny how they never got the attention Dickie Clark has isn't it. I guess maybe that great journalist Stephanolous called all the sunday shows and told them not to cover the story like he did with Alrich.

I'm not completely up to speed on Mansoor Ijaz, but hasn't he been one of Clarke's harshest critics?
The fact that he has been such a big Dem contributor, if anything, should work to the advantage of the Bush Administration.
Also note the time frame of his biggest contributions. His contributions to Mrs. Clinton totaled $2000 and ended in 1999. There was only one $1000 donation to the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee in 1999.
Could he have had a change of heart about the Clintons in 2000?
