People tolerate mosquitoes, until they become pests and breeders of disease and get a good, old-fashioned dose of pesticides.

People tolerate the flu, until they they decide that a vaccine is preferable to a constant runny nose.

People tolerate dogs, until they soil the carpet and chew up the furniture, then they get behavior modification training, or a rolled up newspaper.

People tolerate a trip to the dentists as a necessary evil at least until they get dentures.

People tolerate democrats (small 'd' intentional) because even the lazy and retarded have a right to form a political party if they want to --- then they vote Republican.

People tolerate Islam until Islam decides that slamming airliners into office buildings is legitimate political discourse. Then Islam gets flattened and dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Cetnury.

If you want to make tolerance arguments, beware that they almost always have a flip side and that flip side is almost always extreme. If Islam wishes to be treated with tolerance, perhaps it should learn to stop referring to the rest of us as Infidels, unbelievers and worthy of death. Perhaps then they might avoid the extreme response to an intolerable situation.
