Newly arrived illegal immigrants join others in the compound, which is equipped with a misting system. Military-type tarps shield immigrants from the sun.

Border Patrol agents are busting illegal immigrants faster than they can ship them to processing centers, cramming a temporary holding facility with as many as 500 detainees at a time.

Where's all this "Homeland Security" the feds have promised?

Subject: SOS -from Cochise County Arizona SOS-SOS

To... everyone,

3-29-04 10:10pm I called the beeps (BP) twice already and then the dogs stopped barking and started talking. My one dog was talking for about 1/2 hour, THEN from my office I heard a roar of noise ....sounded like a heard of horses....it was ILLEGALS ALIENS IN A FULL MARCH COMMING RIGHT AT US IN A FORMATION!!! I ran outside to the corner of the fence and looked down the road, they were all dressed in Black and all had heavy packs on their backs-- they were runnung in FORM, THEY RAN RIGHT PAST ME, THE ONLY THING BETWEEN US WAS MY FENCE AND THE DOGS. I yelled sit-down and they never broke stride--they ran down the side of our house and across the back of our property-----I am soooooo pisssssed !

The beeps(BP) have not found all of them yet---they got five and they don't know if it was the same group----there are 2 more groups down in the wash headed to Hereford road, I am sure.

THERE IS NO HOMELAND SECURITY-THERE IS NO HOMELAND SECURITY......

I DON'T THINK WE ARE IN ARIZONA ANYMORE......

Since the beginning of the year, 141,792 illegal immigrants have been caught in the Tucson sector

DAMM! So how many illegals made the trip successfully?

It depends upon who you ask. I think that Department of Homeland Security estimates that for every border intruder they catch, five make it to the interior where they're home free. So, if they caught 141,792 then 567,168 made it through this portion of the border alone. That's why I don't believe the oft-repeated "fact" that there are 10 million illegals living in the United States. I think that the true number is far higher than that.

Since Jan. 1, (more accurately Jan. 7) the agency's Tucson sector has seen a 50 percent increase in the number of illegal immigrants caught compared to the same period last year.

Is anyone surprised.

If you ask them they will come.

No, Spiff, your math is wrong. If they caught 141,792 then that means that 708,960 made it through the Tucson Sector. You confused 1 out of 5 with for ever 1 caught, 5 make it through. Easy mistake. - Spiff

I am getting about to my limits on the ILLEGAL "undocumented workers" nonsense....I live in Kansas...yes Kansas, and in the last ten years ILLEGAL immigration has ruined numerous towns, strained our schools and public infrastructure, and filled our jails. When will this nonsense.

I can only imagine what the poor fools in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas must deal with on a daily basis.

ILLEGAL immigration is the one and only issue which would even cause me to vote democrat or third party. As God is my witness, if either party even seriously confronts this issue they will win in a landslide...instead they ignore it and our towns and communities pay the price.

And as for the 147,000 in Tuscon alone, here in Kansas that is more people than all but our two largest towns....sweet criminy this issue makes me livid.

On the plus side I never have to take a trip to visit the third world...now I can see it if I drive across town!!!!

The weather has warmed up, and so has the traffic. The crossing will be good for another 10 weeks or so, and then people will start to die.

I'm just surprised to learn that any are being caught, and that if caught they are being detained. Doesn't the RNC have buses lined up to cart these Future Republicans to southern California? I would think that HUD ought to be there to help them procure a mortgage before they get shipped back for another try.

Somebody please alert Vicente Fox, so that he can demand that this oppressive interference with the rights of his people be stopped!

Nothing compared to what has happened to California. The largest concentration of Mexican nationals outside of Mexico City is the greater Los Angeles area.

I guess Vicente Fox didn't feel like making any of those reforms in Mexico so that some of it's citizens would stay home ---- it seems things are worse than ever, more people willing to die to leave their homeland.

Another problem is when they get deported, they are just taken to a border city and released --- so they just come back over to the USA --- sometimes it takes several tries until they get it figured out --- many of that number were caught over and over.

I was going to ask how Fox gets away with it. I remember that no one cares about slaves in the Sudan either :(

Dear Grandma,

You need trip wires and some grenades.

Good luck.

All dressed in black...heavy backpacks...disciplined.

So now they're using the soldiers themselves to get the drugs in rather than just using them for protective muscle or decoys. This is a bad development. Had "granny" taken any agressive action she may not have lived to report this.

declined to give his name because he said he was preparing to cross the border again next week.

Gracias to Senor Bush for the revolving door at the Mexican border.

It makes no sense that America can't afford to secure its own borders when you consider the money spent on medical care, incarceration, schooling, "processing", welfare, food stamps, free breakfasts and lunches, assisted housing, etc. for illegal aliens. Why isn't this money being spent instead on closing our borders to intruders?

Our own government is lying to America when it tells us that securing the borders is too expensive.

True! Is it any wonder why most southern Californians are angry? We're sick of paying the bills.
