Clinton Rips Treasury Secretary Over Outsourcing Comments

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, responding to remarks by a top U.S. official that outsourcing can be good for the economy, said the Bush administration isn't facing reality _ at least reality in upstate New York.

Clinton, D-N.Y., reacted angrily Tuesday to Treasury Secretary John Snow's comments that outsourcing is one aspect of trade, and is ultimately good for the economy.

"I don't know what reality the Bush administration is living in," said Clinton. "But it's certainly not the reality I represent, from one end of New York to the other."

"But it's certainly not the reality I represent, from one end of New York to the other."

The old battle-ax wouldn't know reality if it came up to her, introduced itself and proceeded to kick her in the ass!

Hillary: I'm sure you don't read the Wall Street Journal. But really, it's an excellent source of financial and employment information. Please try to keep up. Your famed intellect is failing you.

Excerpt from WSJ: Foreigners outsourced far more office work to the United States than American companies send abroad in 2003, reported the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

"...outsourcing can be good for the economy..."

No matter what we think of Hillary, the comment by the Bush Official was stupid. The guys should have been fired by Bush. I would not have only fired him, but made an example of him publicly. To say this in a political year is the height of arrogance and disconnect from reality.

And no, I don't want to hear from any of you stock market pinheads about how the guy was right. In a political year, anyone who says that in public need to hear this phrase: YOU ARE FIRED.

"I don't know what reality the Bush administration is living in..."

Maybe it's the reality in which the most corrupt president in US history was the victim of a 'Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy'. Could be the reality where you can parlay a couple of thousand dollars into a hundred grand in commodities in just a few months by just sitting around the house. No, wait, maybe the reality where socialized medicine hasn't been a complete disaster wherever it's been tried...

Nah, never mind. Nobody would believe that last one...

I'm no Stock Market pinhead, but Dinok.. please refer to post # 5. The Republicans deal with TRUTH and the TRUTH is what keeps us above the rhetoric - Outsourcing is GOOD. Get used to it. The Bush administration needs to say it more.

If the U.S. economy generated 10 million jobs next week, I can guarantee you that no more than a few hundred of them would find their way to New York -- one of the worst states in the U.S. in which to do business. Leave it to some jack@ss from Illinois by way of a trailer park in Arkansas to blame the Bush administration for the chronic unemployment problem in a state that has been "outsourcing" jobs for 60 years.

Is this the same Hillary Clinton who said:

"I can't be responsible for every undercapitalized small business in America."?

I had friends who lost their jobs in medical research because of her misguided health care initiative. I saw her destroy the vaccine business. Vaccines rotted in warehouses and now new vaccines are scarce.

I hate Hillary because she is a fraud at every single level of her existance.

John Snow again, eh? You know, if Bush loses this election, and there is a good chance of that happening, it is going to be because of two brain-dead losers, Gregory Mankiw and John Snow. From a political strategy viewpoint, these two a-holes are handing the election to Kerry and the Rats on a silver platter. The one salient issue the Rats have to club Bush over his noggin with is the jobs/outsourcing/economy intermix, and these idiots are throwing gasoline on the fire.

So now I'm mad as h*ll and won't take it any longer. The next time the Republicans call me up for money I'm going to tell them I won't contribute any more to Bush until he puts John Snow and Gregory Mankiw on a very short leash with a very strong muzzle and tells them to STFU already! I'm tired of financially supporting a campaign that seems bound and determined to cut it's own throat, which they do whenever they send these two idiots out there to talk to the press. They should be locked up in a room somewhere and not allowed out until after the election.

"the comment by the Bush Official was stupid."
I couldn't agree more. Only the Bush true believers can deny that this one issue alone can prove to be Bush's undoing. When is ANYONE going to stand up for American jobs and not aid and abet our future enemies. Just look at pre WWII Japan for a taste of what is about to happen to us in twenty years with China. They really DO have WMDs and no one is afraid?

Yes I agree. Keep telling people how it's good and eventually they will listen. The President has the bully pulpit and the American people believe and admire him.

This is the Wall Street Journal that on thier front page ran a cartoon of Luddite's rioting in old England -- that is, the WSJ resorts to a coarse, grotesque and cartoonish argument? Prima facie "cartoonish" ... yet that is the center of mass of the Free Traders' argument -- one of derision, cartoonish caricature, an Inquisition-like hectoring of any disgreement with the Free Trade Dogma.
