The only purpose for this show, as Franken has admitted, is to stop Bush's re-election. This is a fatal flaw for success. Why? Because the basis for all mass media is entertainment.

And if there is anything the Franken show lacks, it's entertainment value. Does he want to solidify the hard core? OK, it may do that, for a small minority. Will it garner swing votes? Not a chance in hell. It was the most unentertainig half-hour I ever suffered through. He says he's a comic, but the show had all the hilarity of a root canal.

He spoke about how 9/11 brought the country together, and then how Bush cynically used 9/11 for political purposes. When making his point, Franken talked about a "good friend" who on the day after 9/11 went to the closet and dug out his "America" shirt to put on. "Of course," Franken said, "it took him four hours to white out the word "sucks."

How in the world is Franken going to attract swing voters with that? Does he really think that most Americans think that America sucks? You might say, "Well, he was just making a joke." But how does that joke help? All it does is reinforce the (correct) perception that Franken and his ilk hate America, and all things considered "American."

Everyone who supports Bush should be overjoyed...the show will convince no one, potentially turn off many, and burn money at the same time.

I've never thought he was funny. Heck, PeeWee "The Pervert" Herman is funnier than Franken.
