O'Reilly to call for the leveling of Fallujah?
Foxnews ^

Foxnews host Bill O'Reilly just previewed his show. "Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?"
I have to say that I agree with Bill. Level the place.

Works for me as well.
But if you level it..you gotta replace it with something worthwhile.
Maybe a Corporation Headquarters. A parking lot?
Pave Paradise..put up a parking lot.

That's my question, too. Fallujah is the Iraqi version of Jenin, a den of... "steenking evil", so to speak.

Interesting.
Should we use bulldozers and bombs?
Bomb the hell out of it. Then bulldoze the place.
Then pave it over.

You said it, Glorgau!
The reason why we invaded Iraq, we are now told, was not WMDs, but because Sadaam Hussein was such an awful man. We felt the need to remove him from power, because he would tolerate no dissent in Iraq, and used to level any village that opposed him.

Only difference being that..this is Saddam. Working through his supporters. This is a war. We are at war.
Saddam wasn't at war with his people. Its time to level the town.

For most this will mean that we should go home. This event only reinforces why we went there and why we must stay. If we left after this it would give the wrong message to the terrorists and the world.

1. Close all of the mosques in Fallujah. This is where these attacks are planned.
2. Search said mosques for weapons.
3. Curtail food deliveries until the guilty are delivered to the police.
4. Survey all film of the incident and bring the guilty to speedy justice.
5.Take every third man and move them to the Kurdish controlled area of Iraq.
5. Replace the Fallujah police force with Kurds.
6. More bombings?--every second male gets moved to work camps around the country--an internal Peace Corps, for the religion of peace, donchaknow.
7. Still trouble? Move everyone else around the country.
Then level the place. Fallujah can become a bad memory and an object lesson. It is not nice to fool with America. If your goal is to meet Allah, then we aim to accommodate you.
This has been the most benign occupation of this area of the world in 5,000 years of recorded history. Some people don't know how good they have it.
But if you want to play tough, we will play tougher.
The pussyfooting around needs to end tonight.

When everyone in a village supports terrorism, the police are useless because they also support the terrorists.
The only real solution in that case is to level the whole village. It's not politically correct, but it works because it gives every person in the village a personal stake in maintaining respect for the law in their communities.
If a majority of the villagers don't want to lose their own houses, they'll make sure to have an effective police force that cracks down on terrorists instead of providing them aid and comfort.
The US should announce for everyone in Falujah to leave their houses within 48 hours, when a MOAB will demolish the area. One less terrorist stronghold, and a positive example for all other Arabs harboring terrorists.
Destroying the houses of the individual terrorists doesn't address the underlying problem, and misses the forest for the individual trees. The problem is the whole diseased community. The Arabs appear to need more incentive to have their communities reject terrorists rather than embrace them.
This isn't "collective punishment" that punishes the entire community for the acts of a few individuals. The community itself is guilty of harboring, fostering, and inciting terrorism.

I understood that the reason we didn't want to turn Iraq over to the Iraqis immediately was that we were afraid the SHiites would take advantage of their majority status to slaughter the Sunnis and we wanted democratic forces at work. Maybe the Sunnis shouldn't be protected after all and the transition should be shorter. Let the Shiites do their worst.

In my view, O'Reily is a nut case, a selfish, egotistical, power hungry, self-serving, two faced loud mouth that Fox should have dumped a long time ago. Heck, when he is on, I flip the channel to CNN and I hate myself for that. BUT, on this one....he is right. Of course, I haven't seen the details of his actual "opine" on this as yet.
Cut it off and kill it. Then the first one that complains, cut it off and kill it too, and so on, and so on.....Sooner or later, the morons should get the message or they just wont exist anymore...........a win, win to me!

I totally agree with your post.
The bulls**t has got to stop.
I don't think the Sunnis have seen what it's like to be on the receiving end of some repressive measures such as 16-hour curfew, mandatory (or you go to jail) ID's required for all civilians, shutting off of water and power for atacks made on Coalition forces, police stations, etc.
A very very very large-scale crackdown on these people is what we need to do.
