Not that I want kids (or anyone) smoking cigarettes, but... COME ON!!! What is this, a police state?
It's one thing to bar them from athletics and/or leadership positions for smoking or binge drinking off campus. But there's no reason for barring them from the prom for that...

I can see them complain if she violated school policy on school property..but I don't understand the purpose of harassing and punishing the students when they are suppose to be under parental or guardian control..

COME ON!!! What is this, a police state? Increasingly, and regrettably...yes. We're not quite there yet, but give it a few more decades and we will be.

What is this, a police state? Yes, and an alarming number of posters here are supportive of it.

That's exactly what you've got, a police state. Courtesy of our education bureaucrats.

Then kick her out of school. She is 18, and allowed to go to school for free, my ND tax dollars could go towards a kid that understands that rules should be enforced.
