Kerry's Priorties (check out the only votes Kerry's shown up for in the last 6 months)

John Kerry's priorities for America are clear - abandoning our troops, protecting murderers, higher taxes, partial birth abortion, and protecting greedy trial lawyers. But don't take our word for it. Just examine John Kerry’s sparse Senate voting record for the last 6 months and see which issues he deemed worthy enough of a rare appearance on the Senate floor to vote, and his vote on each issue

John Kerry’s 2003-2004 attendance record and number of missed votes warrant a call to the truant officer. He has missed more that 85% of the votes held since October 17, 2003, while campaigning.

Gracing the Senate floor with his presence and vote signals Kerry’s undying passion for a particular issue. Apparently certain things are so important to him that he temporarily suspends his quest to meet voters and raise money so necessary to run for President.

Since these issues are so high on the Kerry agenda we here at crushkerry thought it would be useful to examine these votes, as they offer the best glimpse of the priorities that would be at the fore of a Kerry administration.

Abandoning the Troops. We have heard Senator Kerry‘s bromides about "supporting the troops" ad nauseum and to be quite honest his words ring hollow. And he proved us right. When it came time to walk the walk, he voted against funding our troops already in Iraq. More than 75% of that $87 billion went directly to the troops in the form of higher pay, better equipment (like body armor) and the like. Luckily he was only one of 12, yes only 12, Senators voting to pull the rug out from under our troops and their families, as well as the newly liberated Iraqi and Afghanistan people. Sadly for Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Al Queda, and every wannabe tin pot Arab dictator, Kerry’s attempt failed.

Protecting murderers John “F-ing” Kerry "distinguished" himself even further by giving the middle finger to little Conner Peterson, the unborn child savagely murdered along with his mother Laci . Kerry voted against the bill and the 84% of Americans who believe that that Conner Peterson is something more than a “tissue mass“ and is a person entitled to same legal protection against harm from a criminal as you and I.

By refusing to extend legal status to the Conner Petersons of the world, Kerry voted to give a safe haven any subhuman wishing to end a woman’s pregnancy by repeatedly kicking her in the stomach. Sure, the criminal may get 5 or 10 years in jail for assaulting the woman (if, of course, she lived), but nothing for killing the baby and wouldn’t have the burden of paying child support for 18 years.

When Senator Kerry’s felt his children kicking in the womb, did he tell his family and friends “I’m so excited, I felt the fetus kick”? When he got home from work did he ask “How’s the unviable tissue mass in your belly doing”? Would Senator Kerry tell a couple who felt the tragedy of miscarriage “Well, that’s OK, it’s not really a baby you lost, it‘s just a formation of cells”?

Obviously (we hope) Senator Kerry‘s answer to these questions would be No. Why then, Senator, did you vote against labeling Conner as a human being?

Following Kerry’s logic here, Conner Peterson is no different than a displaced body part. For example, if an abuser punches his female victim and knocks out her tooth, he is not charged with a separate crime for knocking out and harming the tooth. Like the tooth, Conner Peterson is not considered a living thing with a right to be free from harm.

In Senator Kerry's world the killing of Conner Peterson is treated no differently than the dislodged tooth - just a body appendage unfortunately damaged by violence for which the criminal is not liable.

Partial Birth Abortion. This time Senator Kerry showed up to vote against a bill banning partial birth abortion. This bill is supported by 68% of Americans . Let‘s be very specific about what Kerry is actually supporting here. This is a procedure where the body of an unborn child is delivered through the birth canal and then has its skull crushed and brains sucked out. Thankfully, 64 other Senators disagreed with him. On this issue (and the Conner Peterson law) Kerry cannot even claim to be protecting abortion “rights” because 52 of the same Senators expressed the opinion that Roe v. Wade was correctly decided

Preserve and Defend the Rights of Trial Lawyers. Kerry took didn’t forget his (or John Edwards’) buddies in the trial lawyer bar. Kerry voted in favor of poison pill amendments that led to the defeat of a bill designed to protect the gun industry from opportunists and predatory class action lawyers (sorry, that’s redundant)

The tallies on each issue were such that Kerry’s vote would not have changed the ultimate outcomes in any case. Thus his showing up and votes are a signal to the American people what issues are closest to his heart. Kerry undoubtedly has several tortured explanations for these votes that could last for hours. But when it comes down to it.

To further put this in perspective it is necessary to list the issues addressed by the Senate during the same time period discussed above where Kerry did not show up to vote: the Prescription Drug bill, the 2005 Budget Resolution, holding Syria accountable for its support of terrorism, increasing funding for military housing, protecting under funded pensions, protecting Americans from identity theft, the protection of forests, and the confirmation of appellate judges.

All you really need to do is look at the “winners” should John Kerry get his wish and get to implement his priorities - Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Al Queda, Middle East terrorists, abusers of pregnant women and unborn children, partial birth abortionists, the IRS, and trial lawyers.

Yes, trying to sell Kerry as the mainstream candidate and Bush as the extremist will take all of the best car salesmen in Washington.

I wonder what's going on with that law suit to force the Senate to dock his pay for not showing up at work! This is REQUIRED by law, and is NOT being enforced.

Good list of the votes he thought was worth his effort to show up for.

One interesting no show was when he and Edwards did not show up for the vote to extend Federal unemployment benefits.

It lost by 2 votes. Of course, when it failed to pass, Bush was blamed by many democrats for not caring about 2 million unemployed.

That would be like fining a NFL player a quarter. Plus, who cares if a Lib misses a bunch of votes? If his constituents do, they can elect someone else next time.

Personally, I think this is a much more effective approach than the old "He missed X votes while campaigning for President." Zzzz. Everyone expects a candidate to miss votes while he is campaigning, and that's why that tack never goes anywhere. But to highlight what he thought important enough to get back to Washington for -- that's inspired.
