What cracks me up is every time there's good news that goes against what they believe in or what they wish would happen... It's "a lie", "BS", "fabrication"!

But when they read crap out of the the New York and LA Slimes... OK, now we got the truth!!

Truth... They can't handle the Truth!

If an individual starts his own business, this is not counted as the creation of a job.

There are two primary unemployment numbers reported - the household survey and the employer (I forget the official name) survey. The employer survey misses a lot of small business and start-ups. The household survey does not.

Thanks for the ping! All I can say is "hehehehehe..."

It is amusing to see how the wire services are going with the baby uptick in unemployment as they try to downplay the job creation. The media is such a joke. They honestly think we are totally stupid. Some are but most are not.

As far as we know, given the limited amount of information. It could have been a loss of more than that if they had included those that gave up searching, etc. Unemployment may have truely dropped, but we can't truely say. That is like a restaurant changing their glasses from 14 oz to 12 oz to make the 10 oz of drink you bought look like you bought more.

And this is all without Kerry's massive government jobs creation programs. Amazing how we can recover without direct government interference.

Just a heads up on the the way the good news is going to downplayed:

I ran across Elaine Chao on CNBC and apparently there is some concern about this mornings economic numbers being leaked. Probably if it they were, it was another holdover leftists trying to create another manufactured 'scandal'. Chao said it is a legal matter if true, so prepare for the howls from the leftstream outlets.

O.K., I got more of the story on CNBC, 2 1/2 minutes before the release of the 308,000 new jobs plus other upward revisions, the bond futures hit the crapper.

I am not saying the sky is falling, I am glad that the jobs are being created. However, I think that all people able to work should be counted. If you have your own business, you are counted as employed. If you are in school with no job, you are unemployed. It is not that hard to put these numbers out there. They can even say that x% of the unemployed are students, that would give people an honest rate. Are they afraid to have the true numbers released?

Get a grip my hispanic brother. I am glad the jobs are being created, but how about some honesty in the numbers. I am not looking for any cloud, I am just pointing out a fact and that the numbers could be higher, lower or more accurate.

On local radio news here in the Peoples Republic of Northeast Ohio, which usually follows an AP script, the .1 percent increase in the unemploymjent rate is being reported (accurately) as a reflection of more people looking for jobs in an obviously improving market. The 300,000 plus figure is going to be hard for even Peter (a pr**k by any other name) Jennings to ignore, not that he won't try.

"The rates also don't include people who "gave up searching for a job" and went into business for themselves which after all helps us all to have more people creating wealth."

To not include people that work for themselves or start their own business is understandible, they are technically employed. Those that gave up searching for a job are still technically unemployed. They should be counted.

If you give up, does that mean you don't want a job or you don't want to work. ;-)

This is the biggest news of the day!

At 8:00am here in the Rockies, both CNN and msnbc are leading with stories about the conflict in Iraq. Not a single word about 308K jobs created in March. Understandable. This story doesn't fit their anti-Bush/pro-Kerry agenda.

Here is how they should come up with the numbers:

Are you self employed?
Are you in school?
Do you have a job?

Let's see, you come up with numbers of self employed, employed and students (both employed and unemployed).

These numbers would be honest numbers. As for the example you pointed out, are they employed? No, thus they are counted as unemployed. Just like they are now.

There's a U6 number that picks up most everyone. It doesn't really count people who took 40%-50% pay cuts, for example, who are employed but hate their job because of the pay cut and might be angry at Bush.

If it increased from 5.64% (5.6%) to 5.66% (5.7%) that's statistical noise.
