From the article that starts the thread, it seems she wasn't even yet hired as a translator when the attacks occured.
Additionally, she was complaining of pro-attack sentiment amongst the other translators, arab-speakers but with Jews excluded?
Then, as I understand it she was fired? Following with sueing the FBI? Now with claims that information existed pre-attack, that if translated (which it wasn't)pre-attack would have given the Bush administration some advance warning....but not the date....not the time....not exactly how... and not exactly where?
And she is nice looking, from the pic and if Kerry is elected, his new Secretary of State lives far from his home in Chappaqua (or was it Harlem?) and will need translators.

I surfed FR in the background that summer about 12 hours a day while doing a lot of detail paper work on my computer. I don't remember anything about airplane attacks at that time. I remember years earlier, Phillipine and French incidents that foretold intent, in hind sight.
I remember plenty about Afghanistan, Taliban, Northern Gurrilla chief being eliminated just prior to the attack and Osama being made a defense minister in the Taliban government, Osama, Iraq, Asprin Factories, Chinese shooting up our plane, and lots of related stuff, but no shadow of the event itself.
Anyone else remember any foreshadows?

I don't remember anything about "plane attacks" either. I assumed at the time that terrorism around the July 4th holiday meant a hijacking or a TWA 800 situation. "Plane attacks" never occured to me. That's why I think this woman may be interpreting pre-9/11 data with post-9/11 knowledge. I just distincly going home and telling my husband that I was concerned about the possibility of terrorism, particularly as our daughter was flying out the Saturday after the 4th on a missions trip. But it was not anything definite; I would have considered canceling her participation if there had been. Just indefinite buzz about more concern because of the 4th holiday.

From a different angle, think of how insulting this is to Muslims...we can't even give them credit for doing this, we're trying to take all the credit for this too!!!!!

Actually - i hope someone can find the article about
this. Around 1999 i think ...the library of congress
research arm presented a report that had these exact
words in it " Suicide bombers belonging to Al Quedas Martyrdom Battalion could crash an airplane packed with high explosives " . I Remember reading a news/magazine article where Clinton actually said he had read that report but did NOT consider it further because it was not sent thru normal or recongnized security principals that he relied upon. bill sorta said ..."well geee .. yeah i read that report but you read a lot of stuff and this was not from the normal channels." I cant find the article now ..but think it pretty amazing that bubba actually admitted to reading and ignoring this report - however - the leftist web sites who know of this report ..never mention bubbas admission but instead report it as an evidence that Bush "should have known" that planes would be used to attack us. robert
