An Acme man sustained serious injuries when he was crushed by a beer keg after crashing his car into a tree and a pond on Saturday.
Michael A. Koehler, age unavailable, was listed in critical condition Sunday night at UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh's Oakland section.

Police said neither Koehler, who was flown by medical helicopter, or Drexler were wearing seatbelts.Hmmmmm.... apparently the beer keg wasn't wearing its safety belt either.
I'd recommend waiting a couple days to let it settle down before tapping it.
If not, it's likely they'll get nothing but foam.

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think having a seatbelt on (the occupants, not the keg) would have prevented a flying beer keg from hitting these guys! Or, is this the new SmartKeg that is designed to distinguish between those vehicle occupants with a seatbelt from those without? Ironically, if Koehler had been wearing one, would his friend have been able to extract him from the car? Hmmm, these are all imponderables to ponder over a nice cold beer...
