The head of the political arm of Hamas, Halad Mashal, said that "any threat on Arafat is considered a threat on Hamas." Mashal, who is considered close to Arafat, said these things to the newspaper Al-Majid that comes out today in Jordan. At the end of last week the Prime Minister (of Israel) said that the "Chairman of the Palestinian Authority", Yasser Arafat, "is not safe on his seat."

Uh, well, since Israel just took out Yassin, do they think this threat is really going to frighten anyone? Very weird--as though they are living in some sort of fantasy world.
To: johnfrink
Yeah, I think Israel has already done a pretty good job of threatening Hamas explicitly.

Based on the fact that Yassin is dead, I'd say the Israeli's have already threatened Hamas. Where do these yoyo's think all this gum flapping is going to get them?

So much for the Oslo prediction the PLO and Hamas would be sworn enemies. You know that one that held the "moderate" terrorists would police and wipe out the really really "radical" terrorists. Its been falsified and any one with eyes who can see can readily perceive there is no real difference between the PA and Hamas. What is a mystery is why the Israeli government continues to deceive itself into thinking there is a difference when there is clearly none. Otherwise Israel would have destroyed the PA as well as Hamas ages ago.

Believe me, Israel knows all about the PA. The Israeli left doesn't, and so does much of world. One of the places you see this is how the world fears Hamas will overtake the PA, which we vividly know that there is no difference between the two and their goals. Their only difference concerns what to do with the land they take from Jews.
