The US military should just announce that ANYONE in civilian clothes will be deemed a target and shot on sight!!! Way too many people in civilian duds running around with AK47s and RPGs in these photos! Start marking them as targets and that will slow down that!

God bless our brave troops! They have honor and pride in their hearts. The terrorists have only hatred. May God strengthen and protect our soldiers! And may he squash the enemies of freedom!

I love the green flash picture. Here in San Diego, down by the beach, there is a restaurant called The Green Flash. They have pictures of a "green flash" in San Diego.
As soon as I get my new printer hooked up, I'm going to print this out and take it down to them. I think it will be a great conversation piece.
Thanks!

Don't worry about that "sniper" you posted at ten. Our Marines will outshoot him with their M-16A2's, not to mention their M-14 designated marksmen, M-24 snipers, .50 caliber sniper etc. That guy probably has a hole in his forehead as we speak, if he was close enough to engage our troops.

"those psycho's are all sporting 7.62's especially this guy. (7.62x54R)Hope he's a bad shot."Notice that he's squinting one eye closed. The whole purpose of a red dot scope is to allow you to keep both eyes open while shooting.
Basically, you are looking at amatuers amongst our enemies. Their mobility is severely compromised, for one thing, because none of them are carrying rations. That limits most of them to within walking distance of their home...which can be an inconvenient place to have to go back to for 3 meals a day. Eat less and you become less effective as a fighter, too.
Nor do any of them seem to have much ammo on hand. That pretty well limits them to being mere cannon fodder.
But these are precisely the types of hotheads who we need to be killing and capturing in order to pacify and stabilize Iraq. The sooner that these amatuers are dealt with, the better.

In Basra, Iraqi police joined supporters of Moqtada al-Sadr??
I hope these policemen were arrested.

Funny how after Teddys "this is GWB's Vietnam" speech these miscreants throw their own version of the Tet offensive. I wonder if ol Teddy has been on the phone to Iraq lately? No doubt this is their "last stand" offensive.Exactly. They know that when the Americans flip the sovereignty switch it's back to home rules, i.e. if you're caught you can count on having a bad day....a real bad day.

To: MD_Willington_1976
You ever been shot? When holes start opening up in your body, it dosen't much matter if it is a 5.56 or 7.62 entry wound. You are shot all the same. Ever try doing much of anything after you have been shot? Difficult to do no matter what caliber.

No, but I've been impaled by 6 inch x 1/4 inch steel spike directly beside my femoral artery above my knee...I get your point though...even though the effectiveness of the 5.56 caliber has been diminished since the adoption of the 14.5 inch barrels on some service rifles...and the reports of people taking 2-3 or more rounds to put them down.

You're the greatest. This is the most informative thread/site around.
Keep up the good work. God bless our troops and Commander-in-Chief. I hope they smash these guys and then hit Iran which has been supporting this chaos.

Better. Per CNN report *here*:
The Marines came under intense fire late Monday, with Iraqi insurgents firing mortars and rocket-propelled grenades at their positions from a mosque and from an open field.
U.S. forces moving against those positions also came under attack from Iraqis who fired machine guns and threw grenades at them from a BMW sedan. The Marines killed one and wounded at least two of their attackers, taking the survivors into custody.
An Air Force AC-130 Spectre gunship, armed with a 105 mm cannon, was called in to push back the attackers, and no Marines were hurt. The operation involves troops from the U.S. Marines' 2nd battalion, 1st Marines, and the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, both stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, Vanzant said.

Notice that he's squinting one eye closed. The whole purpose of a red dot scope is to allow you to keep both eyes open while shooting Nope. That's a PSO-1 4-power telescopic sight on the Iraqi SVD copy, not a red dot sight, the most common of which is usually seen atop a Kalishnikov's rail mount is the Russian Kobra, a very effective unit.
The bad news is that the autoelevating reticle of the PSO-1 is ballistically matched to the trajectory of the 7,62x54r bullet's path and pretty well eliminates the necessity of expertise at range estimation or holdover by the user. The PSO-1 is fast and effective, particularly out to 600-750 meters. Though the reticle is *busy,* it's effective. And the cartridge is approximately the equal of the old U.S. .30-06, much more effective than the shorter AK47 ammunition.
