IIRC, there were quite a few democrats about 11 months ago who were demanding that The Prez set a deadline, and quite righteously indignant that the administration was dragging its feet about the matter.

Here's a photo from the Kerry Rally:
"His rally was interrupted by about a dozen people near the front of the crowd who shouted and clapped flip-flops above their heads a reference to Republican claims that Kerry has changed his position on Iraq, taxes and other issues."
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry D-Mass., talks to the crowd as his supporters try and use signs to cover up a group of young Republicans who were clapping together blue sandals to try and disrupt a Kerry rally, Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in Cincinnati. (AP Photo/Al Behrman

Kinda wonder why no one in the DNC directed "news media" asks him how, when total unemployment is 8.2 million, and EVERY Economists agrees that about 6 million unemployed is Full Employment (consiering that a certain # are always unemployed because they switching jobs or is unemployable due to mental/phycial issues)How he is going to fill the other 1.8 million jobs?
ALSO, perhaps the most important question. HOW are you going to create ONE job much less 10 million Senator Kerry? How about some real details of HOW you plan to do it rather then the usual hysteric anti-Bush rant??

Perish the thought! Bush should tell Kerry to go for a drive with Ted Kennedy.

Good questions, Johnnie. But of course the biased media who will be voting for 'Flip-Flop' Kerry will not ask......BTW.....I am excited to see that the Young Republicans used 'flip-flops' to make their point today!
Did you see the photo I posted.
Kerry's rude union thugs tried to stop the protesters but they made the AP story & the photo that went with the story.
Score TWO for the protesters.......ZERO for the Kerry thugs!

" If all we do is make war against the Iraqi people "
This has to be one of the most insulting slurs of the US military ever uttered by a Democrat.
This vile piece of debris owes an apology to everyone in uniform, especially those who are serving in combat.
Can you imagine how the families of those KIA must feel ?
John Kerry thinks their son or daughter was making war on the people of Iraq.
And deserved to die.

"I think the June 30 deadline is a fiction and they never should have set an arbitrary deadline, which almost clearly has been affected by the election schedule in the United States of America," Kerry told National Public Radio in an interview to be broadcast Wednesday. It sucks when your opponent can beat you up with the truth. Because this one is true.
Kerry is a lying weasel and appeaser who would undoubtedly be happier talking about how much tougher he'd be on Saddam via sanctions and such. But he's happy to pick this freebee up and use it, since we handed it to him on a silver platter.
To: Willie Green
otherwise, we'd ignore regional feuding just like we ignore the Hutu and Tutsis.
And the Administration would have much more credibility in my eyes if serious efforts were underway to reduce our national dependence on imported fuels.
Ever read the National Energy Plan Bush has been trying to get passed for 3 years only to be stabbed in the back by a Do Nothing Democratic Senate minority backed up by a handful of chickhearted "liberal" Republicans?
Here's a link. Rather then continually sniping at Bush, maybe people should spend some time contact Congress to GET IT DONE

Nonsense. The worst thing in the world would be for the US to leave an open ended comitment so the Democrats could run around and scream "Bush has no exit strategy" Bush needs to give the American Voters some very clear, very well defined, very achieveable goals. Mile posts on the road to victory in Iraq and cannot be misrepersented and lied about by the Kerry "news media". June 30th IS a date pushed back from the original handover date. It would be stupid of us to let Iraq be spun as endless "quagmirere" with no demonstrable achievements. Kerry on THIS, like everything else, is just a opportunistic political whore trying to score political points over the bodies of Dead American Servicemen. It is dusgusting and wrong and it is going to backfire.

The thing must be done right. Period. And June 30th isn't based on "done right." It's based on giving "he American Voters some very clear, very well defined, very achieveable goals." Unfortunately, those goals are oriented toward American electoral politics, and not getting the job finished (which is a shame, because I can count on on hand the presidents who knew what that phrase means, and this one is among them).
It would be stupid of us to let Iraq be spun as endless "quagmirere" with no demonstrable achievements.
Yes, in election politics that's stupid. But looking beyond 2004, it's stupider for our nation to cut and run for fear of political backlash before we've achieved what we set out to do.
The very practical problem is that electing Kerrey is going to make matters even worse. And getting the troops out by June 30 (provided Iraq is left peaceful for a while) takes away a big Kerry election talking-point. But there's no need to pretend that this is anything grander than election calculation at the expense of better policy.
To: Shermy
Er...Excuse me, wasn't it the liberals who TOLD President Bush that we were an "occupying force" and needed to get out of Iraq as soon as possible and complained because the timeline was "vague"? The only thing worse than these slimes, is the liberal media that supports it.

"I think the June 30 deadline is a fiction and they never should have set an arbitrary deadline, which almost clearly has been affected by the election schedule in the United States of America," Kerry told National Public Radio in an interview to be broadcast Wednesday.
-snip-
Asked what he meant in his statement to NPR, Kerry told reporters: "I mean that I think they wanted to get the troops out and get the transfer out of the way as fast as possible without regard to the stability of Iraq. The test ought to be the stability of Iraq, not an arbitrary date. ... It should not be related to the election."
He is clueless. The June 30 date and our troop exit are two entirely different matters. The transfer will probably go as planned but that has nothing at all to do with when the troops leave. We don't leave until the country is stable.

When Spence Abraham stops hyping that junk science hydrogen economy nonsense,
and commits to generating 40% of our electricity by nuclear power within 10 years,
maybe I'll start taking Dubya seriously on the issue.
