I just heard this on Fox News Dayside program.
Brigadier General Kimmitt stated that normally mosques are protected sites but when mosques are used to organize, incite or execute violence "mosques lose their protected status".
He said they preferred that Iraqi forces be used in such circumstances but when necessary they will take the fight to the mosque.
The audience applauded his statement.

And who was calling Kimmit a weenie boy yesterday?
I forgot, but it may be time to reconsider.
To: Mark Felton
About freaking time. They already think we're targeting the mosques anyway, so we might as well get some strategic benefit out of doing so.
To: Constitution Day; dirtboy
General Kimmit, DOR, on MSNBC, where the anchor tried to bait him with "General, would you like more forces on the ground."
His answer was "Yes, I'd like more forces. More Iraqi forces, more Iraqi policemen."
They are learning.

They don't care about blood or the lives of women and children. They only want to shield their cowardly rumps or, if that doesn't work, to have maximum propaganda value from an attack on a mosque.

My totally-serious response: well, this certainly gives yet another opportunity for Muslims to show their true colors.
What I mean is this. We're told most of them are peace-loving, decent folks. Fine; I'd love that to be true.
If it's true, then this is a perfect opportunity (as if they haven't already had countless opportunities) to say, "Say, Mohammed why don't you get your guns, your bombs, your knives, and your bloody butt out of our mosque before we THROW you the heck out?"

David Hackworth was ranting this AM on WOR radio that it has to be some "trigger happy" pilot who fired on the mosque, how it was a terrible idea, etc, etc. What happened to that guy?

If allah is the only god, then why cant he protect his mosques? Because he isnt god.
Weak argument: does that mean that God isn't God if He doesn't protect a Christian church from getting blown up?

"It's long past time that mosques - terrorist fronts, to be precise - to lose their protected status here in the U.S. as well."
Right, lets be fair and consistent. Here too.
To: Mark Felton
This is from an Aussie paper, I just copied it from another thread:
US marines pressing an offensive in this Iraqi town west of Baghdad bombed a central mosque and killed up to 40 insurgents holed up inside, a marine officer said.
The bombing came after several hours of small arms and rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) fire from insurgents, which left three marines wounded, said Lieutenant Colonel Brennan Byrne.
He said there were "as many as 40 rebels" inside the mosque. "We want to kill the people inside," he added.
The officer said a Cobra helicopter gunship fired a Hell Fire missile at the mosque and then an aircraft dropped a laser-guided precision bomb.
Fallujah residents confirmed that the Abdulaziz al-Samarai mosque was hit along with the building of the Islamic Scholars' Association.
The officer said the marines carried out the raid as precisely as they could because there were people living nearby.
US forces have claimed that the rebels who are fiercely opposed to the US-led occupation of Iraq are using mosques to fire on marines and to hide weapons.

Hackworth's been off the reservation for a while now. I can't explain it, except perhaps as some type of pre-senile condition.

Finally the phrase "nowhere to hide" is strating to mean something.

News item at the top of the hour ... a reporterette stated that the mosque was attacked and destroyed while worshippers were at noon prayer. The liberal media doesn't miss a beat ... no mention that the mosque was teeming with terrorist gunmen ... some who no doubt were around last week when the Americans were ambushed just a short distance away.
