I don't think that you would get any argument from Howlin' about your comments, Mad.
I think that Howlin's commentary was directed more toward yonif's uncanny ability to relate absolutely anything that happens in the world back to "poor Israel." Is that about right, Howlin'?
If a cat gets run over by an ox cart in Timbuktu driven by a black, Hindu transvestite who converted from Buddhism and is married to a catholic you can bet that yonif can figure out a way to relate it back to "poor Israel."
No offense meant, yonif. Just observations I have made over the last couple of years and taking into account your youth and inexperience in world matters.
Yes, there ARE times when things happen in the world and Israel has absolutely nothing to do with it and is not involved in any way.
Ding ding ding! Yes!
It irks me to no end when people drag THEIR agendas on to threads that are being discussed concerning OTHER issues.
Personally, I think we should have nuked the entire middle east on 9/12, but I guess we will have to do it incrementally. Shortly after 9/11 a FReeper posted a scary historical piece on terrorism. Basically their method of waging war is tricking the enemy into commiting an attrocity by commiting an attrocity themselves. This is how they eventually get everyone on board. Attrocity #1 was using a Mosque as a base, and we rightfully called BS on that. This could become attrocity #1 for them to enlist people on their side. Hope I am wrong.
Someone must be a little sensitive about their association with communists.
For your information, Allah means, "the God," in the Arabic language, whether you are Muslim or Christian or Jew.
In fact, while in North Africa, I attended a Cathoilc funeral service where they spoke in Arabic and they repeatedly called upon Allah for comfort...
If you are an Arabic speaking Jew, Christian or Muslim, Allah is the name of God... it's the literal translation.
So, unless you're an athiest, you may want to rethink what you said, that, "allah still isn't god..."
I know in public school they taught us that Muslims worshiped Allah, like he wasn't the God that we also worshiped, but it's the same God, the God of Abraham, the God of Moses, the creator.
for example, in Hebrew, i believe they say Yahweh...
In Papau New Guinea, the natives refer to God as "Big Daddy" but we know what they mean, if we have any respect for their culture.
It's a beautiful thing to have so many different cultures in the world.
there's much more in this world than what's in our own back yard... so much to savor.
