Sorry I didn't answer to any of your replies yet. I was stuck on the 9/11 commission thread for the last two or so hours.

Anyone who just glances at the red/blue map of the last presidential election can tell you that the only places democrats are competitive on a national basis is in large metropolitan areas. If one could erase whatever the single largest city is in any state, the dems would never win another national election. Actually it's worse than that really. If you were to factor out the 4 largest metro areas in the country, the vote totals wouldn't even be close.

This is a very important point. Most all the libs live inside city limits of large cities, and tend to never get news from anything but ABS, CBS, NBS, CNN MSBNS, etc. They actually believe everything the media say.

I am saddened about the degree of hate in the posts above. I am new to this forum -- I followed links here from slate.com. I am a liberal -- by which I mean what John Locke meant by "liberal". I believe that all men were endowed by their creator with equal rights. But I also think that on at least ninety percent of all issues, liberal and conservative Americans agree. For example: I am a patriotic American, I am a Christian, I believe in courtesy and kindness, I believe in honesty, I try to follow Christ's teaching and love my fellow man. If I am right about this -- if we agree on most things and disagree on relatively few -- where is all the hate coming from?
