I was thinking of smallpox Indian Blankets. Are we already there on the outrage continuum? I figured the west would get down to business only after a stateside nuke attack. Still think you're a little early. We are early, somewhere around the "we can reason/feel good" stage. Dresden takes more outrageous behavior than just a few defiled corpses and running children at you loaded with bomb vests. Doesn't it?

The ROK interrogators did a great job in Nam. We need to bring 500-1000 of them into Iraq, and turn them loose. I am certain that when the ROKs get done, these ragheads will seriously modify their behavior.

I heard from a nam vet that the ROK used to bring piano wire to hang suspected vc with. Instead of a quick snap of the neck, the vc would bounce up and down for a while. He told me that after the ROK arrived in a sector, vc activity dropped to nothing

He also told me that their camps were spotless and they would constantly train in the martial arts first thing in the morning.

If they were donating blood, there would be some bandages,
and they would be supine and serious,
and there would be signs of a container for the blood.
IMHO, THIS is a terrorist-solidarity pose.

Guess you know me well enough, King.

The beginnings of a great friendship?
Maybe.

But we're gonna get along just fine in any event.

...I can *feel* it. ;^)

Mudboy:

We're not using overwhelming force. We're pin-pricking. Overwhelming force would entail 2000lb JDAMs on all mosques, carpet bombing or MOABs on falluja, ramadi, najaf, and other shitholes occupied by the muslim terrorists, unrestrained deployment of heavy armor into those "cities", napalm, flamethrowers, and so on. The USMC should have learned from Hue City what it costs in US lives when we try to protect religious "shrines" - remember the Citadel? It ended up as a lot of rubble eventually because the NVA - like the vermin we are now fighting - were in it to the death.

One of my cousins (Recon USMC 69-71) told me that he watched the ROCS interrogate the VC. They would ask them in a polite manner what they knew. If they didn't talk, they would take 3 to 4 of them on a helicopter ride. They would fly approximately 1000 ft AGL at around 120 KTS IAS. They would then pick one of these VC guys at random, and throw him out. The rest very willingly cooperated.

I still do not understand fully the trepidation. My view, gained only from armchair quarterback distance, is we have yet to decide whether or not we intend to gain a victory in this small war. Nothing yet suggests to me we seek to gain military victory, and we continue to sacrifice good men so as to be sensitive to terrorist feelings on a range of issues. I would like a policy maker to stand before American and explain how the sacrifice of one soldier is preferred to that of even a million smelly foreign savages bent on our destruction.

And whats with the DOD POLICY OF STRUCTURING OUR FORCES TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT AND WIN A MAJOR WAR AND A HALF WAR? Tell me Rummy just what is this--a major war? IF SO, why not WIN? If not why are we panting so hard? War and a half---geesh.

I hope the Japanese and ROK throw 20-30 thousand "peacekeepers" the Iraqi'a way. I don't think they will be p.c. in their response.
