This does not seem legit to me. There aren't any sepcifics. The author refers to civilian time rather than miltary time. She describes bullets making a swishing noise. I have had rounds go over my head and they make a distinct popping noise. Perhaps they make a different sound in combat. What type of ordinance makes screeching noises. Who or what is "Higher". What unit is this person with?

Gotta agree with you. This didn't sound right to me either. How is it that the soldiers want to leave but the cowardly governor wants to stay??

Then again, I don't know how coherent my typing would be if I had just gotten back from 21 hours of combat!!

I was curious too.

Apparently this soldier is with a reserve unit from MN.

Within the last 15 or so days she has just arrived in Iraq.

There isn't really any mention that I've seen as to what her job was, although from what I know and the vague descriptions she gave in this entry, I could surmise her to be a driver with a trans unit.

The only thing I can't nail down is whether chemical ali owned any houses besides the ones in Basra and Kirkuk, because based on her description where this battle took place wouldn't be either one of them.

I'm not saying she's lying, but I smell a bit of embellishment of the facts here.
