The most amazing thing to me, Dutchess, is that I can go to a Catholic Church and feel right at home. The same with Methodist or Luthern or Presbyterian. The liturgy is pratically the same and depending on the minister/priest - especially in the Anglican/Episcopal Churches.

I feel sometimes, it is how the individual feels about themselves as to whether or not a church feels welcome to them.

Although I attended the Baptist Church with my Grandmomma, I was reared in the high Episcopal Church and didn't care for the informality of the Baptist and even though my brother is a Baptist minister, I am uncomfortable in his church.

I love the traditions and the formality of the Anglican/Epicopal Church. I do not approve of the group in New Hampshire and what they have done. I feel that they should be kicked out of the Church. But they are GOD's children also, I just can't except their way of life and their going against what the Bible teaches.

We go through the same process or rather one very similar in the Epicopal Church. The one thing that I balked against was the fact that my son by my first marriage, in the eyes of the church would have been considered illigetimate.

To this day, I don't know what church Daniel Russell, my ex, was reared in. He never went to church that I know of.

It does look like it's done in pastels, doesn't it, dixie? I didn't do it and don't remember where I found it now because I've had it in my files since last Easter or the one before.

Today's thread is one that I hope we continue to see every Easter. I thought last year when dutchess posted it, it was amazing - she was 'pretty' new at this stuff, too!

IYAAYAS, You are always welcome to come back to the Church.

I agree with Dutchess and Betis.

We have all made mistakes in or past and have strayed but was welcomed back.

So don't let your past stop you from doing what is in your heart.

Of all the holidays that we celebrate together here on the "Finest", Easter is the most beautiful. It is filled with light and hope and goodwill for the future. This year, more than any other, we need to be reminded of Christ and his great sacrifice.

Whoever did the picture, Billie, was good. I have never been able to utilize chalk or pastels to well and I can't stand the fixitive for them either, lol. Daddy used chalk/pastels for a short while. Lib Belt, a family friend, worked for the Crayola Company and use to furnish us with all kinds of paint, crayons, and other artsy things.

She was such a wonderful woman and very encouraging.

The pictures of Jesus on the cross are so hard to look at - heartbreaking, and overwhelming to think of the enormity of God's love for us.

I've used a bit of almost all the mediums - never sculpted, but may someday try it - but they are ALL messy, and I think it's why I really would just rather do pencil. Maybe if I were a serious artist with a studio set up and a place to keep everything (or keep it all out!) it would be different. :)

I need to go - you're such a good hostess, meetin' and greetin' every day that you can, and I hope you know how much we appreciate your South'un hospitality!
