Actually, I don't think it was Swedish TV (although it is just up their alley) but the Australian TV company. I think they do this to protect their own sorry little buts.

Remember the CNN editor who told us about the news they didn't report from Iraq because they were afraid of Saddam (the thread can be found on FR). Also, the same thing happened in Beirut during the 70s and 80s and in the Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) where the journalists are not afraid of the Israeli army but the PA.

I think Denmark has woken up to the Muslim immigration take-over. They elected a conservative government recently and are getting tougher with their immigration laws.

Oddly, when I was in Sweden thirty years ago, there were very strict immigration laws. Even I, a descendant of Swedes, was subject to severe limitations on how long I could stay in the country, or even work there. But since then Sweden seems to have loosened immigration laws drastically --in order to be politically correct, of course. Crime and welfare dependency have skyrocketed with the waves of Muslim immigrants.

Perhaps Sweden too is seeing the error of their ways? I'd like to know from someone living there.

It is a true story, my relatives worked in Syria at the time the story was widely known in between soviet diplomats and military. After hostages were taken Moscow sent Spetznaz grp to take care of it. KGB provided them with names of the close family members of the suspected kidnappers(terrorism is a family business there). Spetznaz kidnapped them and started sending different body parts to the remaining relatives of the terrorists. Rumor has it some were castated, some had arms chopped off. Another version is that 3 heads were cut and sent. Soviet diplomat was released with an appology attached.

Iraq is a tribal country same as lebanon. If hostages are taken best way to deal with it is to take your own hostages from the clan/tribe who did it. The put pressure on the tribe leaders for an exchange. If they kill American hostage execute their hostages in return.

Apparently, Carter is DUMB. I heard Condi's personal profile on radio the day after she testified. One interesting tidbit was that she was a Democrat teaching at Stanford when Carter made the statement that he did not understand why Russia was invading Afganistan. She thought that was such a DUMB statment coming from a President that on that very statement alone she became a Republican.
