I think our leaders are being pragmatic, my grouse is with those on this forum who see one small thing like this and immediately jump to the conclusion that these have always been and will always be and ARE our friends. They're not our friends, they are allies in a war and very very temporary allies, like the Soviet Union in WWII

You certainly jump to conclusions yourself. Find me a post that says "Kurds have been and always will be our bestest friends!"

Some may be ignorant of Kurdish history but im betting many Kurds are ignorant of American history (slavery) but still appreciate us and what we are doing NOW. You seem to be trying to cast all Kurds as bloodthirsty genocidal maniacs...
