Thank you for the post!!!

He game me chills when he said:

"freedom is the Almighty's gift to every man and woman in this world. And as the greatest power on the face of the Earth, we have an obligation to help the spread of freedom. We have an obligation to help feed the hungry. I think the American people find it interesting that we're providing food for the North Korea people who starve. We have an obligation to lead the fight on AIDS, on Africa. And we have an obligation to work toward a more free world. That's our obligation. That is what we have been called to do, as far as I'm concerned. "

One thing is for certain, though, about me -- and the world has learned this -- when I say something, I mean it. And the credibility of the United States is incredibly important for keeping world peace and freedom.

Take that J-F'ing-K...

A truly great speech. Made me feel like Reagan was standing there.

OH GOD! What a GREAT man President Bush is and what a bunch of yapping lap dogs are the DNC directed "News Media" showed itself to be.

The Bush team gets it, they REALLY get it and here is the proof

"Were the coalition to step back from the June 30th pledge, many Iraqis would question our intentions and feel their hopes betrayed. And those in Iraq who trade in hatred and conspiracy theories would find a larger audience and gain a stronger hand. We will not step back from our pledge. On June 30th, Iraqi sovereignty will be placed in Iraqi hands."

Brillant absolutely BRILLIANT! Right on EVERY count.

Do you believe the American people deserve a similar apology from you, and would you be prepared to give them one?

This is choice stuff!

They're taking the bait. When the fervor of group-think wears off the mob, they're going to cringe. I say everyone out there begin to ask, point blank, any and every D you can find, "So do you believe Bush is to blame for 9/11?"

When I put it point-blank like that to several Ds, I got hemming and hawing and "well, no, exactly . . ."

This entire episode will backfire. Just like the Wellstone funeral.

The mob is just following the lead lemming off the cliff. They haven't seen the edge yet, but it's not far off.

the world has learned this...

when I say something, I mean it

I am watching it again, and may I say that I don't understand anyone who thinks that President Bush did a poor job. In fact, he looked relaxed, he had responsive answers, and he really laid out the case. He looked thoughtful - which must confound liberals, who believe he is incapable of thought.

A very, very good job, and I thought his delivery was surprising in how effective it was. If you think it was not "polished," that is a good thing, because it shows he was thinking through the questions rather than treating this as a performance. I think he should do these press conferences more often.

I didn't hear him, so perhaps his delivery wasn't very good. But reading the words, I'm very impressed by it. He was definitely in control.

Agreed. This is arguably more important than the entirety of the rest of his speech, which was only average during much of the questions (the only part I had a chance to watch). Some of the questions didn't have good answers, though, so he did OK with them.

I second your assessment. If the visual was half as good as the text, then I'm impressed.

He was clearly angry at the end. About three reporters asked him "will you apologize" .. these increadibly loaded questions. At the end, the NPR guy asked a question and he answered it "well DON, you know DON..." he was pissed. Which I enjoyed. It was subtle, but it was there.

These 'mistake' questions are 'damned if you did & damned if you didn't'. The best thing Bush can say is, "well we found out this, and did this in response."
