I was stunned when these women accused John Ashcroft of refusing to fly on September 11 because he knew planes were going to be used in the attack. He was actually questioned about this yesterday, demonstrating that the commissioners are dancing to the tune of these wretched women. They are typical D'rat mouthpieces: each time one of their conspiracy theories is refuted, they come up with another, and another, ad nauseum.

This is a coordinated effort, as revealed by Rush Limbaugh, to discredit and subvert the Bush administration. By using their victim status as a platform, these women are attempting to influence the election process. It is disgraceful and disgusting.

Thank you for telling me.
I can't bear to watch the hearings.

You and Rush are right.
It's all for public consumption.
I have nothing but visceral contempt for these women.
They're worse than "useful idiots" for trading on the deaths of ALL 9-11 victims, not just their dead spouses.
Beyond disgraceful.

Believe it or not, Robert Mueller was before the panel today and Tom Kean asked HIM about Ashcroft's flying arrangements during that summer. Mueller was not prepared to answer and was vague about it and said he'd get details back to them.

Kean evidently (though I missed this others noted it on the Live Thread) stated he was asking this on behalf of "the families".

Now, what other implication are we to take from that but they are calling Ashcroft a liar in his answer (or at least possibly lying) and Kean obligingly pandered to them and thus, in my book smeared Ashcroft with such innuendo.

Of course the facts will be presented but in the meantime the bizarre conspiracy theory was in fact revived a bit today with that bit.

Incidentally, Kean then further disgraced himself by speaking to the press after today's hearing and stating that Gorelick should not step down, that she's non-partisan--yes, that's what he said--it is silly to even suggest she has a conflict and then he ended with we should all stay out of the commission's business.
