Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has been trying to pass modest medical malpractice reform that would weed out frivolous lawsuits and rein in soaring insurance costs. He hasn't yet been able to overcome a Democratic filibuster, but he's determined to keep at it. That resolve apparently has the plaintiffs bar and its allies stooping to new tactics.

Can they - yes, legally.
Should they - not if they have a shred of morality. This is so obviously a conflict of interest.
Then again, when has a conflict of interest EVER played into politician decisions?
