Recent intelligence reports indicate that Syria is funding operations against United States and Coalition targets in Iraq, United States officials said.
The reports indicate that several Iraqis have been linked to Syrians in Damascus who supply cash.
The officials did not elaborate on whether the money is supplied by Syrian officials or possibly from exiles associated with the regieme of former leader Saddam Hussein.
Syria has become a key component of the new government in Iraq.
Scores of former Iraqi officials are believed to be in Syria, despite appeals from the United States government to turn them over.

We'll end Syria before Osama is found dead. jmho

Time long past to defund Syria.
Has Assad looked at the new political map lately?
To: threat matrix
Perhaps we should threaten to invade, wait 11 months trying to get the UN to back us, giving the Syrians ample time to hide all evidence, then go in as we should have done 11 months ago - but then, after the main first battles are over send an inspector in to tell us we had no evidence at all, that all our intelligence from around the globe was wrong.

I think that's why W is giving Sharon the thumbs-up sign.
WE can't very well move into Syria, but we can cover Israel's back while THEY do - and everybody hates them no matter what they do anyway........

We could pick up all of the WMD's in the Syrian Bekaa Valley while we are at it!

Strong prediction there..how bout Iran?
To: Psalm 73
Hadn't thought of that - good call
To: Semper Paratus
Tehran needs to take a strong look at that map as well..
To: threat matrix
Being too close to those WMD's is very dangerous. We need to disarm them from about 1,500 miles away. I'll bet we could go that from the Med.

If mosquitoes are biting you and you want them to stop, what do you do?
a) Just swat the ones that actually bite you b) Spray the whole county

I would start with some accidental 'stray' actions in the Bekaa Valley..

I agree! Israel has the right to protect herself from these creeps, now they will actually be able to do so without standing alone....

Yep, excellent choice! And I also agree with people here who are advocating that we let Israel join in on the fun. They're a natural ally and the biggest dog that lives in the Mideast. Gonna have to do it sooner or later.

Our Predator drones have been keeping those areas in Syria at bay for some time..at least according to DEBKA!
