McNair DUI Case In Court

Posted: 4/15/2004 11:01:16 AM

The DUI case against Tennessee Titans quarterback was back in back in a Nashville courtroom Thursday morning.

McNair was not in court when his attorney told the judge that he and the prosecution had not reached a settlement in the case.

Police arrested McNair last May in downtown Nashville. He was charged with DUI and possession of a handgun while intoxicated.

Two Metro officers were disciplined for misconduct in connection with the arrest. One officer was suspended for taking home videotapes of DUI arrests, including McNair's. The other was punished for trying to obtain McNair's release after the arrest.

There is nothing wrong with owning a handgun. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have a handgun in your car when you are driving the car under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. For that matter, I don’t think it’s a good idea to be driving at all under such circumstances.
