Rumsfeld: Al-Jazeera is disgraceful... "vicious, inaccurate and inexcusable"

No need for the lefties to worry. Watching Da*m Rather and Co. is about as close as it gets to a nightly dose of Al-Jazeera without being there. You get all the angry beat up bloodied poor little misunderstood arabs, the armed to the teeth horrible terrible very bad American occupiers, the sympathetic anti-American on-site news babes and dudes alternately filled with grief or Amnesty Int'l self-righteousness - it's all there. References to "Mr." Bush, drowning in sarcasm - oh yeah. If the military flips the switch on Al Jazeera TV, they can just turn on CBS, NBC or ABC (and sometimes even Fox). No prob.

What on earth are you talking about? Gees, me take care of it. Hey, I take guest photos at Hershey Park. I work a few days a week for beer money. Retired.

That fact is, we (US) has set up many TV statiions around the world and paid for them in the hope it would spread Democracy. The investment has been an estimated 50/50 result. But spreading at least 50% Democracy is better than nothing and worth the investment.

The USA has built over 5,000 TV stations around the world for better communications. It is not unusual that some of them will be taken over by hostiles.

Rush said today he got a whole slew of seminar callers touting the "massacres" they saw on Al Jazeera. When one guy started to talk about it, he just shut him down.

He said Al J was one big lie and you couldn't believe anything they showed you, and he wasn't going to give any of them the time of day.

With respect, Sec'y Rumsfeld, then *put Al-Jazeera off the air.* Jam their signals. Disable their birds. Would we have allowed Tokyo Rose to blast her propaganda 24/7 through satellite, if we had the means to do anything about it?
