Don't you love irony?

Yesterday: Kerry reported a taxable income of $395,000 and a tax bill of $90,575.

Today: Sen. Kerry paid $102,152 in federal income taxes for 2003 on adjusted gross income of $395,338

Seems he underestimated his tax bill.

Didn't Kerry give Bush flack for underestimating the Medicare bill and restating the price tag later?

Let me know when the gigolo releases his "wife's return ". His "earnings" wouldn't pay for his ski-lift ticket. How did he get a loan of $6 million on what he makes? He can't even pay the interest on that. So, if she wants to be First Lady of this country, she needs to spill her guts.

Looks like Kerry screwed up. When a wealthy powerful man like Kerry can't figure out the tax laws, it's time for them to be repealed and replaced with a simple flat tax

Thanks for the link... this explains it... Kerry was trying to claim the lower capital gains tax rate on the profit from the sale of that painting - when that rate doesn't apply to "collectables". He probably would have gotten away with it if he hadn't released his tax return publicly. So much for trying to pay his "fair share".

No wonder Teresa won't release her tax returns... what accounting slight of hand will we find in her return???

Can you imagine if it were Bush in this situation?

The headline wouldn't have read "Bush Files Amended Tax Return"... it would have read "Bush Lies on Tax Return, Forced to Refile"

If Tah-ree-zah pays more than 2% of her actual gross income in Federal tax, I will eat my hat.

The reason Tah-ree-zah doesn't want to release her tax return is because she isn't paying any.

Ha! I went to the main post office in Fresno last night and stayed from 10 to 11:30. THOUSANDS of people were driving up to pay their taxes before it was too late. I held a sign which read "John Kerry = Higher Taxes" and at the bottom it read "Go, GW Bush" and I was wearing a Bush 2004 hat. It was fun.

This is most likely money from the Ketchup Queen which Lurch conveniently forgot about last year.

More interesting than that would be that she wants to hide the leftists - communist groups that she supports.

If she is planning on being the first lady (in her dreams!!) - we need to know what her interests are.

on adjusted gross income of $395,338.

I believe that about as much as I believe that my AGI was $395,338 in 2003.

I just e-mailed a question to aabrams@johnkerry.com.

Recently, Massachusetts lowered their income tax rate from 5.85% to 5.3%. On line 22 of the income tax form, the taxpayer has the option to choose to pay the older, higher rate.

In my e-mail, I asked aabrams the following:

Did the Senator release his Massachusetts tax return?

On line 22, did the Senator choose to pay the optional 5.85% tax rate?
