Interesting PC manual for our troops . . . fyi

NEW: 1st Infantry Division Iraq Handbook (4MB Adobe Acrobat .pdf file)

http://www.siri-us.com/1stid.pdf

TOPICS: News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: 1stid; handbook; iraq
Hope this item is worthy of its own posting.

The Army teaches you how to fight a war. Libs think it's important for you to know how to do it without offending anyone.

God, I despise liberals; they screw up everything.

Should this be on the Internet for the whole world to see?

I haven't read the whole handbook yet. But what I have read so far seems fairly harmless (except for being a monumental waste of time for our troops).

My thoughts exactly. Do the right thing, Lib_Whacker.

I saw the 'unclassified' part on the front cover so I think it's okay. You're right. The liberals don't want anyone to know how things REALLY are going. Just today I got a customer who heard the Bush press conference playing on the store radio and he called Bush a bumbling stupud idiot. I smiled :) *LOL*

I guess if it's out there, then it's already been read by those we don't want reading stuff like it. I read it and it did say 'unclassified' but I just wonder why the media is so free with information.

That website that links to the manual seems to be a little too much 'informational' for my taste. Maybe my tinfoil hat is on too tight *LOL*

Should I ask the moderator to pull the thread? Look through the table of contents for the manual. No secrets there. The IED stuff . . . I don't know. Apparently they come in an infinite number of guises already.

But I'll ask the moderator to pull it if you guys think I should.

Go here: http://www.adtdl.army.mil/atdls.html and then go here: http://www.1id.army.mil/1stInfantry/links.htm

It's also available on http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/report/2003/1id_iraq_soldier-handbook.pdf

Nothing to it - it's a consolidation of all the information available on Iraq and the situation they're heading into -

Punch in a PDF url HERE and you can read PDF files online without a download.

FWIW, I have no problem with this being posted.

The real danger is it makes our troops look like wimps . . . I mean, how not to offend an arab if he comes up to you and plants a big juicy kiss on your nose, lol!

The IED stuff . . . We've seen a lot of it before.

I think it'll be okay, SC. But I'm glad you brought it up!

I love it- for some reason the Adobe reader, when installed on my machine, screws up the registry, breaks links, and does other unsocialable things, so I quit using it. The online reader is good enough for just reading a document.

Lol! Thanks for the link. :)

Okay, this may sound strange, but there is a lot of fraud on EBAY, (cellphones, tons of money being sent to other countries by defrauding Ebay users, hijacking users accounts, etc.) I think that this may have something to do with terrorism.

I know, I know...

The 1st ID handbook is unclassified; however, it has the caveat of FOUO. FOUO stands for "For Official Use Only." Since it has a caveat of FOUO, then it should probably be limited to military personnel. Also, there has been previous instances of people being prosecuted and even imprisoned for supplying the enemy with unclassified information.
