They were attacking Jordan because Jordan supports Palestinian causes??? That doesn't make sense. You misunderstand
they wanted to attack Jordan's position on upholding Arab causes, especially Palestinian rights
Jordon had a "falling out" with the Palestinians many years ago, when Abdulla's father was King. The Palies call the event "Black September"The King kicked the PLO out of Jordon, many went to Lebanon, and messed up that country, which was once the vacation spot of the region, but is now a hellhole. the Syrians came in an took over after the ensuing civil war. Most of the Christians, and many Druze, left. The Syrians, along with Iran, support Hejbollah, which attacks Israel from southern Lebanon.

NOBODY in the Middle East likes the Pileofslimeians. The rest of the Middle East thinks they're scum, but they're perfectly willing to use them as pawns.
I had a Lebanese friend in college who said that the surrounding Arab states had herded the Pileofslimeians into Lebanon specifically to destroy Lebanon because they were jealous of its cosmopolitan, Western culture, and they knew the Pileofslimeians would proceed to plunge the country into chaos. (If you think *we* hate Arabs, you should have met *this* guy... and he was *raised* as a MUSLIM...).
As far as he was concerned, if Arabs were pond scum, Pileofslimeians were muck at the bottom of the pond...

I don't understand the angle here. They were attacking Jordan because Jordan supports Palestinian causes??? That doesn't make sense. Unless they were going to blame it on the Jews.
Jordan has a peace treaty with Israel that is actually more of a mutual defense pact. While they support a West Bank Palestinian state with sovereignty over Haram-al-Sharif, they are committed to the security of Israel proper.

Not necessarily so! The Syrians have chemical weapons & are famous for double dealing ie supporting Hamas while asking the Australians to intercede on there behalf in Washington D.C. to improve relations . Also the guy running Syria is the son of Assad Hussien & he ain't near a bloody minded bastard as his old man was, thus the rumors that he is not completely in charge of the intelligence/secret police apparatus .

Yes they mixed several pounds of cyanide in with the explosive charge which when detonated incinerated the poison instead of blasting it into tiny particles that is why it failed, if they had left the poison just in a container on the ground near the explosive device it would have turned the towers into giant gas chambers.

There's lots of vague language purposefully being used to describe the bombs. I get the impression they may be talking about ammonium nitrate and cyanide, not mustard gas and Sarin coming from Iraq.

FWIW, a poster on another thread said it is to show Jordan that siding with the US will not protect them from attack.

... a poster on another thread said it is to show Jordan that siding with the US will not protect them from attack....Yes, well it should be quite obvious to all that if you...:
- side with the US, they will attack you.
- throw out the government that sided with the US (Spain), they will attack you.
- Allow Jews and infidels anywhere in your country (Africa - hotel), they will attack you.
- Are a muslim country, (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan), they will attack you.
They are going to attack regardless. The question we need to get to the bottom of now is how involved was the Syrian government.
- If Syria was involved then we need to go ahead and take them out. It would make life in Iraq better and it would also send a warning to other (Iran) that if you continue to support terrorism the same will happen to you.
- If Syria was not involved they still operated from and entered Jordan from Syria. Syria has got to respond and come down hard on the terrorist groups.
Scripture (Exekiel I think) prophesied that Damascas would be destroyed. Wouldn't be interesting if their past harboring of terrorists leads to a terrorist attack on Damascas that results in it's destruction?

Could be, but cyanide is definitely a chemical weapon. On the other hand it could be they are referring to ammonium nitrate by itself as the chemical weapon. That is true that ammonium nitrate is a chemical as is TNT and so forth.
The question is, are there chemical weapons in the usual sense of Sarin, VX and others?

Isaiah 17:1, actually: The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

yes you heard correctly- I had a teacher from Pali once- He acted the same way
The 'palestinian lands' are actually formerly part of Jordan. You don't here Jordan asking for them back- they want Pali's to have it so they will all move there.
